APPEARANCE:
August has dark brown hair that is cut in a fairly stereotypical "man cut" with bangs sweeping to the side. He has light skin, with a boyish face that makes him look younger than he actually is. August's eyes are a deep chocolate color that "light up" when he speaks about something that involves alien cultures, or piloting. His hair is usually neat and orderly while on duty, with his bangs swept off to the side. Unless he's in a particularly bad rut, his clothes are also pretty near without wrinkles. August has developed chronic insomnia ever since his leave to Earth, and so usually has bags under his eyes.
When's he's on leave, his body takes a different kind of image to others. August is frequently unshaven on shore leave, and his hair has the tendency to be all over the place. His clothes are generally wrinkled (though clean), and his clothes are generally so worn and faded that other people would have thrown them out long ago. In particular, he loves to wear vintage suits, with maybe a very faded t-shirt underneath. His most frequent article of clothing is a vintage, very faded and worn air fighter jacket that been in his family for a very long time.
PERSONALITY:
August has been described as a man who'd, if he had a supernatural ability, would be able to become invisible. He's very demure in his gestures and his voice, but he does have the ability to lead quite well. August tends to hole up his emotions into himself, becoming a bit emotionless in the process. When it becomes too much for him to handle, he snaps, showing a very ugly fiery side of himself. August is very kind towards others, and is known for giving solid advice to others about their issues. He's very introverted, and non-sociable sometimes, and it takes some prodding for him to come outside of his shell. August is a very humorous person, though, and often participates in good-natured pranks.
He's become very intensely logical after his wife Melanie's death, but sometimes some of his old humor pokes through. He's very driven to become a captain, and he's intensely loyal to others who he considers to be worthy of his loyalty. August detests men who think of women as just sex machines, and strives to be a gentleman to any and all women who cross his path. August tends to love music, and has acquired the knowledge of how to play several instruments during his adolescence. His room tends to be very neat, although with musical books strewn around due to irritation. August hates dancing, and prefers just watching others dance.
HISTORY:
August Benjamin-Beatrix Lloyd was born to science officers Lee and Leslie Lloyd as the first child out of four. When Leslie was pregnant with August, the married couple had argued over which grandfather was going to have the honor of being the child's name. After a few weeks of not talking to each other, they decided to use both names, just hyphenate them. When August was starting preschool, and after his twin younger sisters were born, he got teased because no one could pronounce "Benjamin-Beatrix" .
He punched one of his bullies in he nose one day, and started to call himself after the first word he could spell- August, his favorite month. It took until 1st grade, and a few scuffles with his teachers and parents (who loved the original name), before he was seriously called August. By the time he was in first grade, his parents had another boy, who they called Autumn. August typically got along with his siblings, although the girls annoyed him half to death with their girly ways. In fact, Autumn and August grew up to be very close to each other, treating each other like partners in crime. If something whacky and unexplained happened in a classroom to a person who hurt August or Autumn, one of the boys would always be responsible.
When it came to academics, the two previously like-minded boys differed. Autumn went into mainly teaching, since he loved to be around others and teach. August went into piloting different things, and loved the cultures of other worlds. When the two brothers moved away from their sisters and their parents to Earth in their teens, both knew what they were going to do. Until they could afford their own housing, they lived with their estranged Uncle- Richfield Lloyd. It was during these young teenage years that August fell in love with a young science officer named Melanie, and Autumn fell in love with his later partner.
Melanie and August were a perfect match, and even nearly derailed him from becoming a pilot in Starfleet after his graduation. She encouraged him to become a pilot, though, and so August was first assigned as an ensign on one of the older ships in Starfleet. During a routine mission on the ship, though, August got news of an incident on earth. Melanie had been pregnant when August left on his mission, and she had gone into labor, but a complication had killed her. He immediately went on leave to take care of his son, William Lloyd. A desire for the stars forced him to choose, and, so- since his brother Autumn could not have a child with his partner, August gave him custody over William. Now back at Starfleet, the ship he was previously assigned to already had a new helmsman, so he accepted a position on the Enterprise as a helmsman after Hikaru Sulu and part time social worker.

NAME/ALIAS: Ace HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN RPING: 3 years now, baby! WHERE DID YOU FIND US: Proboards Support DID YOU READ THE RULES: And a Pilgrim E-I-E-I-O! Yep! RP SAMPLE:
Ros had been staring out at nothing, really, trying to recall a few Vulcan cousins in his head- the 'balls of haggis' who were nothing but black hole debris now. It was a fruitless endeavor, the only one he could remember was a boy who bullied him for having emotions and not being as smart as him. Ros remembered punching him and breaking his nose, which his grandfather had been chastised about. It was only a day later that he'd been taken to a hand to hand combat class. It was a fond memory in his mind, but it was interrupted by a familiar voice. Ros' eyes looked at Sky's eyes while she congratulated him. He put his head back in his towel once again, drying his face off a bit more of the sweat that had accumulated over the fight. Ros began speaking even before his head was off of the towel. Even though he was raised on Earth- some of his Vulcan customs won out- such as modesty, and a need for precision. The precision in his fighting, but his modesty was annoying to himself. His Australian accent won out through his voice, and he just replied: "It was pretty sloppy, but thanks." He raised an eye and both of his eyebrows at her next sentence, and looked at his hand. It was still bleeding a bit, but it was wrapped in white bandages that only showed spots of copper green blood. Underneath, though, his skin was torn in several places from glass and his own attempts to rectify the pain of embedded glass. Ros showed it to Sky, stretching out his wrapped fingers. It wasn't too bad, with what medical training Ros had had he was able to handle these sorts of injuries easily. "Got all the glass out, I think- it's amazin' what ya can do with antiseptic, a borrowed tweezer, and a few bandages. Though- fightin' was maybe not the best thing to do." Ros was sure if a doctor was around right now, he'd slap the living daylights out of Ros for fighting with an injured hand. It was necessary though, not for physical health- but for mental health. Ros was sure no one would want him losing control over his Vulcan emotions- even on shore leave. That was a concern when he had first signed up for the academy. That his emotions wouldn't be under control. Ros was able to prove to the higher ups that he could control them, so he'd been able to join Starfleet. It was later this control- and the advantages of having an emotional, strong Vulcan on a ship that led his way to being an ensign on the Enterprise. Ros' voice wasn't as carefree as it had been a while ago. It was still a bit down in some ways, but it was recovering. Ros was glad she had approached him at a later time, not earlier. Earlier he would have reacted violently, even under the effect of booze. Right now he was drained, fully. Ros gave her a mischievous smile, a sign that he'd at least partially forgiven her. That things were near to where they were before. Ros looked at her with a bit of friendly concern on his face and asked: "How are ya? Ow, pardon." Ros winced a bit, putting the towel on the ground infront of his feet as he unwrapped his hand. It looked like he had fallen on a minefield, to be honest. There were little grooves in his hand from where he had to really dig in to get glass shards out, and there were cuts long enough to at least warrant a few stitches due to their length. Ros knew he should have gone to sickbay to get the injuries repaired, but he was a bit too prideful to do something like that. A true Vulcan Scotsman, who thought that a trip to the doctor for a hurt hand was like getting your manhood cut off with a pair of girly fabric scissors. With all the bandages removed, he moved his fingers, not at all surprised by the gore of the wound itself. These wounds looked nasty, but they healed fairly well eventually, Ros knew.
