PERSONALITY: Riley is mostly known for being a likable, easy-going guy. Charming and affable but also something of a clown, Kevin generally makes more friends than enemies. His goofball nature doesn’t always sit well while he’s on duty, but a sharp word is usually enough to get him back in line. Off duty there’s nothing he likes more than a few drinks and regaled stories with friends. But he does also enjoy a calmer setting, particularly listening to music, instrumentals and classics.
What Kevin doesn’t like at all is solitude. He doesn’t like being alone or feeling lonely. He grew up as the only child in a huge home and now he just wants to be around people as much as he can. This also can make him a little bit clingy, as he doesn’t always realize when he’s not wanted and also a little paranoid about the people he cares about leaving--either dying or not liking him anymore.
From his ancestry, Riley also received a wicked Irish temper and a strong Irish pride. His pride in his family is easily and often shown. His lineage of course, and of his parents, who over the years in their absence, have been strongly built up in his imagination. Despite being laid back on most occasions, when he is angry, he is not quiet about it. He will speak up when there is something important on his mind or to stick up for a friend, and his temper might make him act first without worry over the consequences.
HISTORY: While he was born in Ireland, Kevin’s parents moved shortly after to live on the Earth colony on the planet Tarsus IV. What had once been a thriving colony for several years quickly deteriorated when a fungus caused a planet-wide famine. Out of the 8,000 colonists, half were killed in a decision by the then Governor of Tarsus, Kodos--later deemed 'Kodos the Executioner' in the history books. Half were to be sacrificed so that the other half could survive and in the half to be murdered were the Rileys. Kevin was four years old at the time he witnessed his parents fate, but was saved from death himself when rebels stood up to Kodos and his men. To this day Kevin remains one of only a handful of people still living who could identify Kodos.
Federation reserve ships came soon after and Kevin was taken back to Earth and grew up back in Ireland under the care of his grandfather. While his grandfather happened to be a well known singer and pianist, Kevin did not happen to acquire those skills, although he still enjoys trying. He lived in an ancient castle that had been in the Riley family as far back as they could trace it. It wasn’t official, but the family passed down tales of how they were descended from Irish kings.
As a young man, he became the typical ‘class clown’ type. Always around with a joke, or a smile, an easygoing guy who had plenty of friends to surround him when he felt lonely. When he was sixteen, his grandfather passed away and Kevin, having few options open to him for what to do next, enlisted in Starfleet. He left the ancient, lonely castle behind and traveled to San Francisco.
He had entered Starfleet Academy, still clinging to the memory of the Federation rescue team that had arrived on Tarsus all those years ago, but he didn’t know exactly what he’d wanted to do. He’d begun with taking courses directed toward Engineering, but halfway through his schooling re-directed his course to command, specifically navigation. He thought he would enjoy being part of the helm and even held onto a dream of one day becoming a ship captain.
Upon his recent graduation, he has been assigned to the USS Enterprise, which he could not be more thrilled about, having naturally heard about the already legendary ship.

NAME/ALIAS: Audrey (Dreamer) HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN RPING: 15 years WHERE DID YOU FIND US: Web search DID YOU READ THE RULES: "huzzah! batman's mustache pleases me, you pilgrim!" FACE CLAIM: Chace Crawford RP SAMPLE: There was nothing quite like the cold freshness of clear blue water to perk one up in body and spirit. The pool had been just what she needed, Ayelee thought as she pulled herself up to sit on the edge, still letting her legs dangle below the surface of the clear water. She could see all the way down to the bottom of the pool so prefectly that she might as well be swimming in glass, except for when she would kick and gently ripple waves beneath the water that wrinkled everything for a moment or two. It was pretty and she felt no greater obligation than to sit and stare and enjoy it for hours. Except that she was cold.
A shiver made her break away from the reverie and climb to her feet. From the locker room, she had previously brought out one of the big, fluffy white towels. She ran her fingers over where the towel was embroidered with the letters U.S.S. ENTERPRISE. She was in water, in space...while not many on the ship would give this notion a second thought, it was still funny to Ayelee, who was the first of her kind to leave their planet and go exploring on a starship. An amazing starship that was now a home away from home, with family and friends that made it so. To everyone's credit, Ayelee had not once felt 'in the way', or that she didn't belong even though she was still just a child in most of their eyes. Quite the opposite, she knew what her place was, as a morale officer, the bringer of cheer and good will.
She ran the towel through her hair and when it wasn't dripping anymore, she wrapped it around her body like a cloak, slipped on her shoes and headed for the door. It opened with a soft 'shush' and closed again behind her. It felt a little colder in the hall so she snuggled up in the towel some more before hurrying off toward the turbolift. She heard the lift door open, but taking a hurried step, she shoe slipped off, so she had to turn to grab it. She turned back too quickly to realize that someone had come out of the lift and accidentally collided with a surprised little yelp. "Oh! I'm sorry..." she quickly apologized, tugging her wet hair back behind her shoulder.
