STARTING OUT
- When joining, make sure your display name is all uppercase letters and there are no commas, exclamation points, and little dodads. Periods are accepted. Please use your rank title (ex: ens-ensign, lt-lieutenant) before your name unless you are a guest/citizen.
- MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ALL OF THE CLAIMS BEFORE POSTING YOUR APPLICATION.
- You are welcome to apply for a villain. When there is a captain of a villain ship, we will start sign up for their crew so you do not have to be apart of the Enterprise or Starfleet. You can be against them!
- There are an unlimited amount of characters you can play. Out of those, for every two girls, there should be a boy. And if you are lucky enough to have a canon character, you may have two, but only if the second is AMAZING.
- You need to at least have an icon of your celebrity in your profile to be accepted.
- Make your signatures be a reasonable size. Not restricting it to one particular, but know when your signature will stretch the site, it will be removed.
- If you do not apply for a character within a week after being registered, your character and account will be deleted. The same goes to those who apply, post a little, and then never show up afterward. There will be frequent activity checks to get rid of the slackers.
- Your character must be a real person. No cartoons or anime. And we would prefer no myspace-type people.
- Look through the rank list, job list, and species list when you're doing your application. Don't make up something because we will find out.
POSTING
- We understand that bad things sometimes happen to good people but we would like it if you would run your more serious plot lines by an admin. Dating is something we don't need to be alerted about, but someone being pregnant is something we'd like to know beforehand.
- Please do not God-mod without asking permission. I know sometimes it's easy to get carried away in rp, but some people may not like their characters being controlled. So for example:
Wrong Example - George saw the captain was having trouble with the situation so he pushed him out of the way and starting barking out orders, which everyone listened to.
Right Example - George looked to the captain and stood up, asking him if he needed any assistance. He had some good ideas and was waiting to try them.
Give the people a chance to react and decide what happens to them. Maybe they'd like to put it out in detail.
- There will be no Gary-sues or Mary-sues. No one is perfect. in fact, I personally love a character with problems, but nothing so dramatic that it would be impossible for them to have ever been considered to be aboard the Enterprise. A few bugs in your personality is great.
- This site is intermediate. Keep posts in third person and try to make them at least 300 words in length. It's really not that hard to include a bit of description and imagination. Makes role playing with you more interesting.
- If you're not that good of a speller use the spell check. That's what it's here for.
RESPECT
- Do not advertise through PMing people or through the Cbox. It's quite rude when there is an advertising and affiliating board here to use for that purpose.
- Respect authority, staff members are here to make this board run smoothly so that everyone can have fun. So if a staff member send you a small warning if anything is wrong, be a sport and don't give them hard time.
- Do NOT try to be an admin. That is the admin's jobs. If you see someone that has done something wrong, LET AN ADMIN KNOW. Please do not become harsh and treat them as though they should know better. The code phrase is "huzzah! batman's mustache pleases me, you pilgrim!"
- It's understandable if two characters are enemies in rp, but if I catch anyone dissing/targeting specifically another member in the Cbox or OOC boards, I will give the said person a warning. Two warnings for breaking this rule will mean getting a permanent ban from the site. Do keep this in mind and cool your jets before doing this.
- When talking in the c-box, it is now restricted to informal conversations. goofing around and talking to your fellow members and friends. if you have a serious matter to discuss with a member or a staff member, please PM them from now on. this reduces the chances of miscommunication and drama.
DISCLAIMER
- This site is rated PG-13 (because proboards says so) for violence and sexual situations etc. If you plan to include mature content into your threads put a warning in a title. If you have anything that is PG-13 or above, keep it in your PMs or through IM. These boards are fully accessible to people from 13 years up and some may not be comfortable with it.
What would classify as PG-13 to us is that you can get down and dirty and swear your mouth off, but you can't post stuff that sounds like it would come from a porno. Soft core porn, sure. Be more Shakespearean about it, dammit. No COCK IN PUSSY shit, man.
Everyone have a good time!
