APPEARANCE: Imagine someone walking along a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. The someone is female, barely into womanhood. Her hat is covering her eyes, so her expression is hardly readable. She's wearing simple clothing: jeans and a t-shirt. Her head is up, her eyes trained on the path ahead. The inaudible footsteps raise little dirt as her legs carry her forward in what appears to be a straight line. She knows where she's going, and she's not looking back. Something -- a large shaggy dog, perhaps? -- trails in her wake. The duo is too far away to see clearly.
Suddenly, the figure stops and throws back her head, letting the dog catch her dirty straw hat. Now, flaming red hair is visible, as are piercing blue eyes. A smile does not cross her features. It is clear this fae is not one to be messed with. The lines in her face and the weariness in her eyes say she's been through hell and back. If you can picture all of this, you may have some idea of the aura of Sky Timber. Upon first look, many think she can eat you up and spit you back out. In many ways, this is true, but that's for another time.
She's quite pretty, but she only wears enough make-up to get by. Her clothes are always clean, but not exactly the most high-classed threads one can buy. She's short and kind of stocky but far from thick or fat. Her physique makes her a prime candidate for high agility. One thing though, she never wears her hair up. Well, almost never. Her long red locks will get tied back if -- and only if -- she has an idea cooking in her head and is about to make a very rash decision. If you see the lieutenant with her hair back, there is every reason to be highly alarmed. She'll show you why if you don't keep an eye out.
PERSONALITY: Sky is like an ancient leather bound key lock book. The kind of book that looks like it could eat you, and you only find it in the 'restricted' area of some old castle out in the middle of nowhere that everyone thinks is haunted. Thing is, when looking at this book, one automatically guesses that it will eat you...but most books as such are filled with fairy tales. Well...the Brothers Grimm version of fairy tales, but they're still fairy tales right? Anyway, the key's probably down some dark passage that you can't find because it's behind the revolving wall that doesn't exist, in a box, on a chain, around some dead guy's neck.
Also, if you manage to find the key and kill the zombies that try to eat you once you take the key from the box with Dead Guy plus unlock the book, you then have to read the damn thing. The book itself is several stories all being told at the same time by different points of view and using words the average person would have to look up. On top of that, it's in code. It'd be easier for a blind and deaf infant missing part of his frontal lobe to understand quantum physics than it would be for Einstein to understand that jumbled mess. Do you really want to understand this woman?
If so, know this. She's hotheaded, fairly outgoing, quick to jump to conclusions, will take a choice of action and go with it immediately and without much thought, quite rash, usually irritable, easily annoyed, loyal, proud, obnoxious, moody if it's before noon, and an all around good person. She can't stand being wrong, hates people who are naturally chipper, doesn't know how to act around women, doesn't really know how to act like a woman, loves Earth, doesn't really want to be on the USS Enterprise, loathes her brother (Miles) with the very fiber of her being, and generally gets along with most people. Oh yeah, and she has a slight problem with authority. Get all that? Good luck.

HISTORY: It was darker than the deepest pit of the oceans. The moon was hidden behind Earth's shadow and the stars -- however many light years away they were -- weren't giving enough light for one to see one's hand in front of one's face. Not to mention the cactus a mile away, which would be the only thing in sight if it were broad daylight other than the large rundown building. Well, it was that dark outside. In the crowded hospital room, the story was different entirely. As for sound: outside one couldn't even hear the howl of a lone wolf, the darkness was so dense. In the ruins of a once majestic healing facility, a scream was followed by another scream and another.
A woman was in labor. She wasn't due for more than a month, but her body had decided it was time. She and her husband were on vacation in southern Texas, having a great time when her water broke. The only hospital for miles was this one. Of course, she could've been medivac'd to somewhere of better repute, but her husband was a bit old fashioned and refused to agree with anything even close to artificial intelligence. So, in all honesty, it's really his fault that his wife died in labor. Anyway, it took the poor woman several hours but eventually, she delivered a set of completely healthy identical triplet girls.
FAMILY: Father :: Matt Timber ~ Texas Mother :: Milina Timber ~ Deceased Brother :: James Timber (28) ~ Earth Brother :: Ens. Dalton Timber (27) ~ Aboard Brother :: Ens. Justing Timber (27) ~ Aboard Brother :: Lt. Miles Timber (25) ~ Aboard Brother :: Jacob Timber (23) ~ Texas Brother :: Brad Timber (23) ~ Texas Sister :: Arizona Cassaway (21) ~ Aboard Sister :: Jamie Waters (21) ~ Aboard ...thought this might help a little with the confusion.
The last and smallest of the three was actually pulled from her dead body. She fought until the very end, but a heart can't pump blood that's not there. Immediately, the three were taken to the nursery. They were washed, given 'clothes', fed, and laid down by two nurses who actually appeared to know what they were doing. The father was distraught with grief. Newly widowed and a father of now nine children, the man didn't know what to do. He drank that night. Drank to his heart's content. By morning, he only remembered that he was a new father again. He left the hospital three days later with his six boys, but only the youngest girl.
No one is completely sure why two of the triplets were left behind, but they were. It could be said that he was in such a hurry, he just forgot to grab all three. They weren't the only people in the hospital, so it could also be said that the doc only gave him one of the daughters and made him believe that his late wife only had one. Some might think that he deliberately left two behind, gave them to some adoption agency, for they were surely adopted. He named what he believed to be his only daughter the day he started driving home from his last vacation: Skybelle Alianora Timber.
Her earliest memory comes a few years later. The girl is now a whopping three years old. She has less than no idea that she's the youngest of nine children and has two identical triplet sisters. Her flaming red hair and blue eyes already clash in a way that's oddly beautiful in her pale face. Of course, as a toddler, she was never called beautiful, always 'cute' or 'adorable' or maybe even 'devil child' but never 'beautiful'. She was riding her father's newest stallion. The ranch the Timber family resided upon was extremely old fashioned. They didn't even own a protein resequencer. One would think that after something as traumatic as losing the love of your life, you'd change your opinions on certain subjects; especially if it's your fault your spouse is dead. Obviously, Matt Timber did not.
The horse she was riding was the newest member of the ranch. He was a 3 year old bay Arabian who had never been ridden in his life. The range horse wasn't even halter broken. He had been raised for one purpose and one purpose only: breeding stock. Mr. Timber saved him from a life in a small paddock and brought him home for several thousand dollars. Sky was on his back. Amazingly, the great beast hadn't minded as the small human climbed aboard, but now, he was getting irritated at the constant tug on his mane. Quicker than lightning, Sky found herself sailing through the air over the stud's head, arms and legs splayed in a skydiving position. Luckily, her oldest brother, James, had seen her on the stallion at the last second and raced out to get her down.
That was probably one of the reasons the horse suddenly crow hopped and sent the little girl flying. James spooked him with his sudden approach. Anyway, James managed to dive and catch his sister on his chest, taking most of the impact himself instead of letting her break a bone. Somewhat amazingly, she stood up, brushed herself off, took a step toward the animal and dug in her pocket. "Here boy. Buwwy...here you gowuh." As soon as her hand came out of her pocket, "Buddy" lowered his head and gingerly took an apple from her. James watched in horror.
The girl's laughter rang true through the valley as his muzzle tickled her hand. James wanted to pick her up and run, but the wild stallion would probably spook and someone could get badly hurt if that were to happen. Sky jumped up and grabbed at the horse's ear. He snorted and quickly trotted off. Sky laughed and held her arms out for her brother, indicating she wanted to be picked up. He quickly did so and they walked back inside, Sky still giggling happily to herself.
Her next real memory was only 3 years later. Sky was now six and a half years old. She was tagging along with her father and brothers. They were all out at the 'range', as they called it. Mr. Timber owned several old weapons -- from the 21st century -- as well as the modernized phase pistols most people could own now. She snuck around, under the table, trying to get at one of the "booms and FFFVZTS" Daddy and Buh-ba were using. Her hand landed on the newest of the phase pistols -- the reason the guys were having target practice today. It was set to 'stun', luckily because with absolutely no knowledge of how weapons work, she pulled the trigger.
She giggled as it made the "FFFVZTS" sound and she repeated it. Sky held her hands on the gun like she had seen the men do, looked at the brother she didn't like the most, and pulled the trigger again. The flash of light headed straight for her middle brother, Miles's, chest. He collapsed, unconscious, in a heap on the dirt. Miles had been the first person to say Sky was the 'demon child', and he would not be the last. The gun was quickly taken away from her, but her father took into consideration how good her aim was. He sat her down that night and told her that if she was really good, he'd teach her how to shoot for real. Sky was 'really good' for a grand total of one week.
Sky was the baby of the family, and the only female. Needless to say, she became a spoiled ass brat. She could do no wrong in most of her family's eyes. Well, except Miles, of course. James, Dalton, Justin, Jacob, and Brad all thought she was an angel. This pretty little blue eyed girl was a grace from heaven. Anytime someone said something like that to the child, she'd just smile and nod. The femme was always a tom-boy. There were no women in her life until she started public school, and even then, they didn't really care what gender she acted. Never was Sky afraid to get dirty. Always up for a challenge, she sought out the things that most kids wouldn't dare try.
One such time was when she was in second grade. It was definitely not the first time she was sent to the disciplinary office, but it was one of the most memorable. It was recess, and the teachers were distracted. There had been a fight on the playground and a kid had a bloody nose. Sky took the opportunity to use the shoes she had nicked from Dalton and Justin that morning and climbed up the side of the building. A shimmer of red caught a kindergartener’s attention. The child screamed and a teacher looked up. There, standing on the edge of the roof of the school was the youngest Timber kid. She was going to jump and tryout the Twin's parachute. A wicked grin covered her face as she leaned forward until gravity pulled her toward Earth in a freefall.
Sky pulled the parachute at the right time apparently because she's still walking. Unfortunately, she didn't have the most graceful of landings so there's a wicked scar on her left arm where her bone exited her skin. Of course, her brothers were very proud of their work. Justin and Dalton were always doing strange things in the basement -- their bedroom. When she hit the ground, barely a scream erupted from her chest. She just laid there for a moment to catch her breath. Everyone was too shocked to come to her aid until she stood up, brushed off, and looked at the blood dripping from her arm.
"That was so cool!" were the first words she had spoken since she started the climb. Something about her sing-song voice pulled the teachers out of their trance, causing one to call 9-1-1 and the other to get a principal. The young girl sat in the principal’s office with her arm bandaged to stop the bleeding until an ambulance arrived. She was taken to the hospital immediately to get her arm set. During the entire time, she never shed a single tear. After all, it's weak to cry in front of other people. She was home and riding a horse by nightfall. Her father was absolutely astounded.
Early on, the Timber family found that the girl had a particular way with animals that no one really understood. It was probably just that she's never been afraid of them. She was dead set on being a veterinarian when she was grown -- something she would never accomplish. The episode with "Buddy" wasn't the only thing that showed her immunity to fear. She was almost ten years old when she had taken a walk outside and decided to climb down a particularly rocky cliff. Of course, the kid didn't have any gear -- not that she ever did. She laid on her stomach. One leg went over the side and found footing. Then, the other leg. She had done this so many times, it would've been easy in her sleep. There was something about today that was different, though, and Sky was about to find out what it was.
Rarely would Sky look when she climbed down this particular wall. This was just another day. Or, she thought it was. Suddenly, her foot gave way. She had stepped on something crunchy and soft, so it wasn't loose rocks. To this day, the girl believes that it was by the grace of the gods that she was only about twenty feet from the ground. She watched in horror as a nest of baby birds fell to the earth below. None were quite old enough to fly, so the fall was probably fatal. As quickly as her gangly limbs could carry her, she decended. As soon as she could safely jump, she did. Landing nimbly next to the fallen nest. Gently, very gently, she picked the nest up. A single chirp met her ears. A broad grin crossed her features as she looked at the only remaining falcon.
She carried him home in her jacket. Of course, she didn't find out he was a 'he' until about a week later when he tried to fly and Matt decided it was time for him to see a vet. Said vet told them that they would have to give the bird of prey to a wildlife facility. Sky begged and pleaded with her father until he got the apropriate paperwork saying that Sky could keep the Peregrine. She named him Chronos after the father of Zeus. It was her job to get him flying, and able to hunt for himself. The falcon has scarcely left her shoulder in years. At 11, he is now only middle aged and expected to live another 10 - 20 years.
After that, Sky actually calmed down a little bit. Well, if calm means riding "Buddy" everyday, climbing sheer cliff faces, playing with snakes, sleeping with wolves, and doing all manner of other dangerous things with wild animals, then yes, Sky was calm. There was the occasional call from the school to inform Mr. Timber of Sky fighting in school and once where Sky had a modified phase pistol with her, but other than that...no big deal. She talked her father into buying her a milksnake. Of course, he couldn't deny her. The red, black, and yellow snake got the name Hypnos becuase of how often he sleeps. Sky trained the snake to basically live around her neck or somewhere in her immediate vicinity.
Sky was also an animal rights activist. She disagreed strongly with any kind of animal engineering. She was 15 when she and a few of her friends raided a local black market hq. She had caught wind of a wolf pup that had been experamented on and decided it was time for a rescue. Luckilly, Sky was smart about what she was doing, and went to the 'market' multiple times, getting all the information she could on the pup. The freshman was smart enough to think about the special needs it would have. One day, she nearly bought the damn thing. A bid had been placed on the poor little pup becuase some idiot thought he could get ransome money of of her. Some scientist, somewhere, had to be missing her right? Sky and her friends broke in that night and stole the wolf away.
It was a girl, and Sky decided to keep her. It tore the girl up to know that this particular wild animal, the noblest of the beasts was to be caged forever, but what could she do? The pup wound up with the name of Hera. She was always so jealous if Hypnos or Chronos was getting any of Sky's attention. Whenever that happened, Sky always hugged the wolf and told her all was well. Hera truely never leaves Sky's heel. Once, she attacked Sky's brother, Miles, just becuase Sky was pissed at him. No one's completely sure what was done to the Timber Wolf but they're fairly certain a chip was placed in her brain. There's an obvious scar on her head where something was put in her skull. Sky secretly believes that the wolf can almost understand everything around her in an almost human way, but she'll never say it.
Her fascination with weapons grew into an infatuation as she matured. An obsession that she could not understand. Half the time, she found herself trying to build new and improved weapons. This increased as she got older. By the time she was sixteen, she could build a cannon from scratch. Torpedoes were even easier. She also found that history was an amazing thing. She'd spend hours every day reading from various history books, learning of war and peace and strategy to keep both. She found herself intrigued by, not the world wars, but the off-the-radar-wars. The ones that aren't taught in school anymore because there's just too many. Civil wars on other planets as well as land wars here on Earth. Her expertise grew in strategy as well as weaponry. Her uncharacteristic state of 'calmness' changed when she was a junior in high school.
She was walking the halls, skipping class, when the new kid -- a senior from California -- called her name. Her head swiveled and she looked at him over her shoulder. "Yes?" she asked in her usual, guarded tone. His reply was something about telling her to wait up; he had something to ask her. The girl rolled her eyes and slowed down, giving him ample time to catch up before regaining her natural speed. "Is there something I can do for you?" she asked politely. They began to quietly chat about nothing in particular. Slowly, very slowly, the subject of dating came up. Almost immediately, Sky was irritated. She knew exactly where this was going.
Sure enough, he asked, "Will you be my girl friend?" The girl was now faced with how to let the guy down...gently. Slowly and carefully she explained to him that she was seventeen, was planning on staying at the ranch, not sure if she'd go to college or not, and really had no reason for or use of a boyfriend. He, being a jock, couldn't take no for an answer. He grabbed her by the shoulders and shoved her against the wall, using her small frame against her and forced his lips against her's. It took the country girl less than a minute to break his knee, sprain his wrist, and have him out of breath on the floor. She spoke only six words to him: "You will never touch me again."
As soon as she had said it, her weight disappeared from him and she walked off. She was pinned the next day by the cops for "using excessive force in self defense". That too, got an eye roll from her. There was a hearing, Sky was found guilty. Now, allow me to rewind and restate that Sky could build a cannon from scratch without looking at any schematics. The only way she knew she could do it was that she actually had. Something like that doesn't go unnoticed by the government. It can't be. Ignorance gets you killed. The right people were paid, and the right laws were tweaked, giving her case to the feds. Quickly a deal was made that Sky couldn't exactly refuse. She could either enlist in Starfleet or go to prison.
It's obvious she joined Starfleet though for this spirited girl, it was only the lesser of two evils. She almost decided to go to prison just because her brothers had gone to Starfleet and she hated conforming to the norm. Finally, she took the space road only because her reason for being there had to be at least mildly original. She was barely given a choice in what to study. Her options were Weaponry and Combat or Weaponry and Tactical Engineering. She was fairly certain that if she could "knock a guy on his ass in less than sixty seconds" she didn't really need the combat training, so she went with the Tactical Engineering classes.
She finished her 4 year course in the allotted time with almost perfect scores. After all, this was what she loved above all else. She is now a fully capable Weapons Specialist. By fully capable, I mean, you can't give Sky Timber a weapon that she doesn't know how to use. If you do somehow miraculously find something she doesn't know anything about, it's a safe bet to say she'll figure it out in a few hours. It'll take even less time if she's pressured. She was assigned Chief Tactical Officer of the USS ENTERPRISE only a few days ago and isn't quite sure whether or not she likes her job. Her feet have been on Earth all her life. Again, she doesn't really want to be here.

NAME/ALIAS: Sky HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN RPING: Since August of '06. WHERE DID YOU FIND US: Proboards Support: Advertise RP SAMPLE: ooc{{ This is from another site. The one in my profile. =} Sky waited patiently as the stallion communed with himself in his own head. It would've been quite comical if he hadn't been truly messed up. Gently, she shifted her weight. Something flashed in the back of her mind. A warning signal went off. Auds picked up and her head swiveled. She saw and heard nothing. The wind brought no unusual scent to her quivering muzzle. She sneezed just as the male spoke again. "Manifesto?" Inside, she back peddled to get away from him. But her face showed nothing. "Intimidating name..." Thoughts of her own name almost made her roll her eyes. Skybelle...the hell were they thinking?
Sky sighed. "What now? Keep wandering," she paused and her head drooped. "...as it always is." She tried to give him a smile. Some part of her, the part that she had buried as deep as possible was awoken. Though he was definitely older than her, she felt as if he were a child that needed to be looked after. Not cared for, necessarily, but watched. She was pretty sure he could fend for himself as far as fighting went. But, as she looked closer, his mental state was anything but stable. Something within her told her to gently help the hellion. At the same time, though, something much stronger told her to run...and never look back.
That is, until an unfamiliar deep voice sounded from just a length away. She could feel his presence approaching but was lost in her own thoughts for the knowledge to register. However, because it was there to begin with, she didn't spook. She merely glared at him as his honeyed words fell like daggers. Too much personal flare...bite me, the dun thought. A quick glance at Manifesto reassured her that he was ok. Silently, she berated herself for even caring. More lyrics were heard from the new voice. As he was speaking, she gave his physique an appraisal. Able to fight...thick barrel...perfect definition...about 7, maybe 6...cold but not heartless...someone I don't want to cross openly. Then his words registered.
"Land you call your own. A lead? Hmph! I see an overgrown jackass. Entirely too proud. A bit of humility will do you good, youngling." She knew perfectly well that he was older than her, and quite definitely in his prime. The flame at her hooves had flared up again. She was being very careful not to seriously burn anything, but whether that was going to happen, she didn't honestly know. She stepped within an inch of his face. "Call me darling again...and I'll rip the lips off your head," her voice was low, low enough the chestnut probably couldn't hear. Her eyes were trained on the stag's eyes. "I'm free to go where I please. No ego-boosted colt is going to give me any orders. You couldn't handle me even if you tried. Sorry to injure your precious pride. Get the hell over it! I will do what I want. You, honey, have no say. Back off."
She turned and stepped away, his next phrase barely catching her attention. He had just spoken to Manifesto. For that matter, he had offered the other stallion a place within his lands. Sky reared just enough to turn on her heels. "You're the beta stag." It wasn't a question. She had come to the conclusion as soon as she heard Canicus. "A stallion that needs servants..." the word dripped like acid from her tongue.”Is no stallion." Outwardly, she made it obvious that she held nothing but disdain and contempt for the newcomer. But, to a trained eye, she was definitely drawn to Muse. He already made it clear he could deal verbally with a rowdy mare. Sky's next test for him was whether he'd go through with what he said...
