APPEARANCE:
Nyota Uhura stands at about 5'8", and weighs in at about 135 pounds. She has long brown hair that passes down her back gently. She has mocha colored skin, that could be considered flawless since she's a bit of a neat freak and likes to be clean. She has big brown eyes that are the type of eyes that give away the soul. She has a very strong jaw which can give off a stronger attitude.

PERSONALITY:
Uhura is your typical know it all type of character. She knows almost everything you need to know as a human being, and then some. She isn't the type of person to be wrong about things, she is constantly wanting and striving to be correct in everything. As a child, she was always smarter than the other children, and they used to take that personally. Uhura didn't make friends well, but she figured they weren't all that important, especially since she was striving for Starfleet.

When it comes to everyone aboard the enterprise, she wants everyone to hear her opinion and wants to make sure everyone is safe. She may come off as stuck up, or angry all the time, but that's only because she is trying to do her job. When the situation calls for it, Uhura is perfectly capable of showing emotion. Commander Spock is one of the few who have seen the softer side of the young woman, but she doesn't throw her emotions around, because she knows that they tend to get in the way.

HISTORY:
Not much is clear on the history of Uhura, even her name was a mystery until Spock let it slip out. What is known or implied, was that she was born in Africa as a child, and then moved away to the United States, eventually to join Starfleet. As a child she could speak Swahili fluently, while in America, she picked up English almost as if it was her first language. She realized that her strong suit relied in linguistics, so the woman went into when joining Starfleet in order to take her strengths and applying them to a more suitable and important purpose.

She was originally assigned to the USS. Farragut, as a way to avoid showing favoritism amongst his cadets, she wouldn't hear of it. She demanded, rather headstrong, that she be appointed to the USS. Enterprise. Spock didn't question the matter once as he reassigned her and nodded to her. She was then appointed to Lieutenant and in charge of the Communications of the Enterprise when a Starfleet crew member was inable to perform his duties to Uhura's caliber.

Later, after the destruction of Vulcan, the romantic relationship with Spock was made clear when Uhura attempted to try and comfort him during this difficult moment in his life. Despite his Vulcan training, Spock is able to show strong emotion in front of Uhura, but the extent of the relationship isn't completely clear. Now, Uhura is continuing her duties aboard the USS. Enterprise.
