APPEARANCE: Extremely human in appearance, the only thing that marks the difference is two triangular bone growths positioned above and behind the ears. These stick out at about a 30 degree angle, giving the appearance, from the front, of the forehead being larger than it actually it is. Her hair is a dark brown in color and just about shoulder length. Bird conveys a sense of calm that can sometimes be misconstrued as aloofness and rarely lets emotion show on her placid face. She has large brown eyes and a wide forehead consistent with her race. She has a small frame and is extremely slender, although she isn’t incredibly short. Bird prefers patterned gowns or robes in floral colors.
PERSONALITY: Having been raised with the knowledge that she would assume her parents' position when she grew older, Bird trained from an early age for her career. As the only Cairn on the planet, she relied heavily on her brother for support. They never became more than acquaintances with the other children, although Bird did her duty in making sure she knew the children of "the right people" to help her later in life, she didn't really enjoy it. Her artificial sounding voice and vastly different culture and ways of communicating ostracized them both from a young age.
As Bird grew, she continued to prepare herself to become ambassador. Having a duty, or a calling, makes her feel safe. She takes pride in the fact that she has been the only Cairn to master more than one language, but as a perfectionist, the fact that she has extreme difficulty processing written information frustrates her. As a child stuck between two worlds, Bird has never really felt at home anywhere. The Cairn people reject her for her verbal communication as the others reject her for her ill grasp of it. Instead of having a location, she has fixed her home on her brother, Dreamwalker, and feels incomplete if he is out of telepathic range.
HISTORY: Bird was born just after her twin, Dreamwalker. They were the children of Thought, the ambassador to the Federation, and his wife, Memory, a historian of Cairn. They had artificial vocal cords installed at the age of four. These gave them means of verbal communication, however, it was not organic, and did not sound so. Bird grew up very close to her little brother, and for a long time they spoke to no one but each other, only communicating via telepathy. But when her father sat her down and showed her that he hoped she would follow in her footsteps, she began to study harder, to learn all she could to be the best ambassador possible.
Learning was difficult, she had to have all text converted to speech, if not images, before she could truly understand it. Bird sought those who were predominately right-brained, and therefore, extremely visual, to help her. They would read, and she would take the images out of their minds. She almost had friends for a while, but her dependence on her brother pushed them away.
Bird visited her home planet several times, but found the lack of dialogue somehow disturbing. The native Cairns, while polite, transmitted overwhelming amounts of visual data at once and increasingly abstract images. She was a bitterly disappointed. Somewhere in her heart, she had hoped she could feel at home among her people, but it was not to be. When her father died at the age of 150, she, only 25 at the time, assumed his position.

NAME/ALIAS: Spaz HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN RPING: Oh gosh, years I suppose. WHERE DID YOU FIND US: Scarn talked me into it DID YOU READ THE RULES: Pilgrim RP SAMPLE: Elle Bishop sat slumped in the back of the room. She had given up fighting against the manacles that kept her chained far away from the door. She had come here for help with her power. A flash of electricity spiderwebbed across her hunched body, reminding her of her predicament.
When she had woken to find herself locked in this room, Elle had tried everything. She had yelled, screamed, fried anything she thought looked vulnerable, but still nothing. She had tried to slip her hands out of the cuffs, but they proved too tight. Primitive things, they were, these heavy iron manacles. She dared not fry them and see if they melted for obvious reasons. So she knelt here, hungry, exhausted, and tortured by her traitorous body.
A noise. The door was opening. She winced as the light hit her eyes. A few seconds of contraction and dilation by her pupils and she was able to make out the shape of....No. A slimy, cold worm of fear slithered into the pit of her stomach as hysteria began to rise within her. Not him. He was here to finish her off. She wouldn't let me.
"You!" She yelled, staggering to her feet and conjuring her blue lightning. "Leave me alone, you bastard!" She screamed as she pulse wave after wave of her deadly power straight at his chest. He would never get her power, never.
