APPEARANCE:
Ros looks pretty close to a human, appearance wise. He stands at 5'11, short for a person with Vulcan blood, and has black hair that is not really cut into a bowl cut due to his grandfather's hatred for Vulcan customs. His eyes are kind of squinty, and normal for a Vulcan. Ros' eyebrows are up swept, although very thinned out usually to make them seem not so slanted. Ros's ears aren't as high and pointy as other Vulcans, but they're an instant eye-catcher to those around him, anyway. Even while around people who know that he is a Vulcan, Ros tries to hide his ears and his eyebrows underneath his bushy hair and a cap. He does have a bit of a green shimmer to his skin, due to the copper-based blood in his veins. Ros is an outcast "Vulcan" just like his grandfather, and, so he's emotional, his face always either one emotion or the other. His voice is a strange mixture of Australian, Scottish, and American, with the degree of each fluctuating depending on his wild mood.
PERSONALITY: Ros is one wild little Vulcan hybrid if there ever was one. His grandfather encouraged emotions, and only taught Ros enough emotion control to function in society. Due to his nearly uncontrolled emotions, this hybrid is very hot-tempered and aggressive if provoked enough. Ros does try to keep a lid on his anger when around others, but he can be sarcastic if someone is being stupid. He's brutally honest about other people when they ask him things. However, in comparison with his anger issues, he's a very happy Romulan/Vulcan. He enjoys Scottish dances, as well as southern hoedowns. Ros is also a fan of alcohol, and enjoys Terran brandy and vodka.
He does tend to throw himself into the line of fire rather easily, and is known for accidentally getting hurt by the weapons that he maintains- ("Bessie" blew up on me again, etc.). He's very compassionate when it comes to others, and some argue that he should have been a doctor for how much he cares about treating other people. Ros is also known for his bad-idea quota, which is VERY high when it doesn't revolve around weapons. An engineer had better close his ears and RUN when Ros gets an idea, because they are usually disastrous. When it comes to survival, and hand-to-hand combat, his intelligence as a part Vulcan comes in. He also enjoys the "shock factor" in people, and frequently shows up to rec room in a kilt to surprise new recruits. Ros doesn't care if people make rumors or hate him- he'll only get involved if they insult one of his weapons.
HISTORY: Rhian was a Romulan girl who had fell in love with a Vulcan Science Academy man. For the two, it had been an instant love-at-first sight, deal. Saven Sek knew that some Vulcans considered it traitorous to marry with another race, but after Sarek's own "marriage" to a human, Saven was determined. It also helped that Rhian's race was an offshoot of Vulcan. Saven introduced Rhian to everyone he knew as a Vulcan, not a Romulan. It was logical to do so, in his opinion. The communion was a delightful experience, although Saven, with his repressed emotions, did not show it. The day after Rhian announced she was pregnant, though, Saven died. Therefore, Ros was born as Tang Sek on Vulcan, where his mother lived by herself. His father had died from an accident at the Science Academy while his mother was pregnant. Despite help from his father's father, Tang's mother could not handle raising a child due to an illness.
With her permission, Tanak, Tang's grandfather, moved the baby and himself back to his old home on earth. He had only gone to Vulcan as a family favor, being viewed as a pariah due to his hatred of controlling emotions. Tanak raised the child as his own, making sure that the child knew that emotions were not bad from an early age. As he grew older, he started to despise Vulcan customs, especially after Tang's mother's "disappearance" (only Tanak knew that she had moved back to Romulus, not finding a reason to stay on Vulcan since her love was dead). Tanak changed his name to Napoleon Stuart, and changed Tang's to Ros Stuart. He never revealed to Ros about his Romulan heritage, knowing that the race was an enemy of the Federation. Napoleon instead insisted that Ros was just a special mix of pure Vulcan genetics. He encouraged growing out previous bowl cuts that they both had, and gave candy to his son whenever he saw how unVulcan-like his son was. In his childhood, Ros remembered being home schooled by his grandfather, and playing soccer with a few other kids, including another Vulcan- a girl. It was during this homeschooling that he began to learn about his contact telepathy, and mind melds as well as katras. He shared his knowledge with his friend, the girl T'Pia.
They both became pretty attached, although his grandfather was not a big fan of her parents because they were "too Vulcan". He did like her though, and treated her like a substitute granddaughter. She called him "Grandpa" just like Ros, and everyone viewed that as cute. Although not in support of customs as such, Napoleon knew that his son had to be involved with a girl when pon farr arrived, and so he, with the girl's parents set up an arranged companionship. Ros went through childhood pretty well, participating in survival classes and fighting classes, which his grandfather encouraged. He remembered a few relatives visiting, and likes to call them "intolerant, narrow-minded balls of haggis" frequently. Napoleon frequently took Ros on long winded journeys to different places on Earth. Ros always had a penchant for accents, and so picked up his motley accent that he has today. The experience that he got from his grandfather, and the trips helped him, sort of, in passing the Starfleet exam on the first try (though if he had been one point off, he would have had to try again).
He was a wiz kid in his courses, and has managed to get onto the Enterprise as a weapons handler and a general tactician. He graduated on time, despite his "medical concern" that forced him to go home and be with the Vulcan girl- T'Pia. They don't consider each other as "the one", though- and so have sort of an open relationship. When Vulcan was destroyed, Ros was tempted to go to a Vulcan colony, but was sent a letter by his grandfather detailing how the old man was going to go help along with T'Pia and her parents. Napoleon pretty much threatened the Vulcan that if he ever showed up to live there without living his life fully in his passion, he'd roast him. Literally.

NAME/ALIAS: Ace HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN RPING: 2-3 years WHERE DID YOU FIND US: Proboards Support RP SAMPLE:
Ace was lost in his own processing while he was walking towards the dorms. In fact, he didn't notice Chekov so the hologram walked right through him. Of course, he stopped when he heard a voice, and turned around. His hologram fizzed a bit and turned transparent for a second, a sign that Ace had been caught off guard. As soon as Ace realized what was happening, he pretty much forced his holographic simulators back into their proper placement. With a small fizzling snap his form once again looked corporal, and he smiled a warm smile as the previous question now registered in his mind. Ace remembered hearing about a few office changes. They had been brought about due to a few complaints by the professor who had his room later changed, if Ace remembered correctly. He opened his mouth and spoke, his voice a bit of a British accent mixed with American. His voice was hollow though, like a computer. "Ah, I do remember hearing about some office changes- I do believe the professor moved his office in the building due north of here. I can show you the way, if you want." The wind picked up a bit, blowing a cool breeze, that Ace couldn't feel, onto the hot lawn area. As his processors in the dorm registered the knowledge he had on Professor Merriweather, including location, and what classes he taught, he awaited the Russian's answer. Ace was kind of surprised by how young the yellow-clad male in front of him looked. He looked to young to be in Starfleet, but people could look younger or older than they actually were. The hologram was a prime example of that- he looked early 30s, but he was actually seventeen, computer-age wise. Ace calculated how much time it would take for him to show the other male where the Professor's room was, and concluded that it was all right. He'd still have time to study, among other things. Ace saw people and objects being affected by the cool breeze, his body fizzing a bit for a few seconds before returning to normal. He'd have to see what was going on in his computer, because his holographic lapses were becoming worse.

A FEW CHANGES This was a lovely application, but I have to suggest something. Feel free to argue with me over this. As it is very rare to have an emotional vulcan that is under the age where they start to get Bendii Syndrome, I was thinking that maybe Ros is Romulan, but has no idea because he was born and raised on Vulcan. Or at least half Romulan or something. Since they look so much alike, Vulcans and Romulans, it would be safe to say that it would be much like the ugly duckling where other Vulcans just think he looks somewhat different from them, but really have no idea that he is a Romulan. Maybe speculations, but nothing out of the ordinary. As it isn't unheard of that Vulcan's can be emotional, they might just think he is insane or whatever. Just tell me what you think.
