APPEARANCE: Liliana's hair is always well-kept. With it being naturally curly, she opts to cut it in layers, helping the curls to relax into soft waves. Layers make her locks look longer and fuller. Not that she needs much help with so much hair anyway. Most of the time, her hair is a dark brown, nearly black, but in the right light, it catches auburn-red hues. When parted on either side, Lily's bangs fall into her eyes, so she tends to part it in the middle, unless it's straight, but that look doesn't come out very often. Due to the care that Lilyana puts into her hair, it is very healthy. Always shiny and soft, carrying the faint scent of strawberries from her favorite shampoo.
Lil hates her eyes. They are narrow and almond-shaped hidden well behind a thick fan of eyelashes. From a distance, her eyes look almost white, but on closer investigation, one can see many colors in her eyes. She refers to them, collectively, as 'breenzel'.. A light, brownish green is often present, which Liliana finds disgusting. There is also a honey-hazel color that shows up only when she wears certain colors. No matter how much she dislikes her eyes, one can usually find comfort by meeting Lilyana's gaze. It has a way of lighting up around people that she considers friends or new people. Then again, if she doesn't like you, her eyes will tell it so, adopting a glassy, distant look or a dark, menacing glare if need be.
She has an athletic build, to go along with her naturally thin physique. Years of running and playing with her brother have made their mark on her extremely long legs, leaving finely toned muscles. Her body shows signs of womanhood, and maturity. You could say that Lily is a bit on the shorter side. She only checks in at a mere five-foot-three and one-fourth of an inch. Yes, that fraction is very important. To her, at least. Being so 'vertically challenged' has lead to a petite size for Liliana. She has a short torso and long legs.
Lounging at home or out on the town, Lily loves to dress in the cutest styles. Whatever she is wearing, it always looks sophisticated. Lil has never been one to look like a slouch. Pretty sundresses are a staple in her wardrobe, but you're just as likely to find her in a pair of jeans or a comfy pair of shorts. She always wears a platinum band on her right ring finger, an antique silver heart locket around her neck, which rests just below the line of her collarbone, and a pair of diamond stud earrings.
PERSONALITY: Generally speaking, Lily is very kind-hearted and outgoing. She has a happy disposition, and a positive outlook on life. Lil is the kind of person who will walk up to someone she doesn't know, start a conversation, and make sure the person feels comfortable. There is also a certain "mother-hen" complex about Miss Keeler, being in that she always takes care of others. Hating to see people in pain, Lily is quick to stand up for others, even those she doesn't know. This tends to get her into trouble as it gets her stuck in the middle, which causes people to label her the ever-so-popular "drama queen". This isn't so, because when Liliana becomes involved, a conflict is usually resolved very quickly. She is also intelligent, but not studious. She's the kind of person who can know the answers to a test just by being quizzed on them once or twice. She has a very keen mind, and tends to soak up information, and remember everything she hears.
You could say that Lily's downfall is that she is very outspoken, sarcastic, and stubborn. It's mostly all in good nature, but sometimes she states her opinion and won't come off it. She isn't self-centered, or prideful in a negative way, but she hates to be wrong. It's the curse of being intelligent, she says. Liliana is also known to make people laugh, just for her quirky sense of humor. That, and she likes to laugh. When Lil is nervous, she talks… A LOT! When she is bored, she tends to play with the chain of her necklace, or to twist a chunk of hair on the left side of her head. When she is around a guy she likes, Lily will usually bite her bottom lip and get really giggly. And in any given situation, there is always the chance that she will burst out into tears, being an extremely emotional person. She has always been in touch with her emotions, but never in an out of control way. There is no way that she could ever be emo or depressed, or anything of the sort. Overall, she's just a way too happy person.
Lily never meets someone she doesn't know. She makes it a point to be friendly to everyone she comes in contact with. She is a great leader, always having everyone's best interests at heart, and she can speak in front of a crowd like no body's business. She is also the Fort Knox of everyone else's secrets. There is a trust barrier that Liliana never learned to put up. She is very open, too much so. People tend to take advantage of that. She also can't keep her own secrets, and often puts her own needs off while taking care of everyone else. Having a short attention span has also proved to be a weak spot for Lil. Especially under pressure, Lily has a tendency to give up when the littlest things go wrong. She hates to cause problems for others, and she feels like, by making mistakes, she does.
The worst part for Lily, in the current state of society, is that she is a hopeless romantic. She does not believe in arranged marriage and refuses to one of its victims. Liliana believes that love should be the deciding factor in two people getting married -- not money and not titles. A man would have to be very considerate of her feelings and desires to win her heart. The youngest Daniels child wants to be satisfied with her life at the end of the road, not looking back and wondering what could have been. While she usually conforms with what is asked of her by society, she does tend to have bit of a rebellious streak. Especially when it comes to the double standards between boys and girls. What can she say? Lil believes with all her heart that she should be treated with the same respect as any man. That didn't necessarily steer her from all her bad habits either. She doubts herself a lot, and even though people constantly compliment her, Lily still finds it hard to believe that she is truly a beautiful girl.
The most strange part of Lily's multi-faceted personality is her interest in boyish things. Her looks are very deceiving, and while she loves girly things like make-up and fashion, her heart truly lies with things such as cars and football. Even in a pretty pink sundress, you can catch Lil religiously watching the NFL draft every year at the end of April. I guess you could say that growing up with two older brothers had its effects on her. It still didn't stop her from loving to shop. There are moments when Liliana can be very materialistic. She refuses to wear anything discounted and always shops in name brand stores. Everything in her closet is the latest trend and she usually will not settle for less. It's one of her biggest character flaws.
HISTORY: Liliana was a child of miracle, to say the least. Her mother contracted Anaprolean fever during her pregnancy. It was a Xindi disease left behind on Earth after the agressive attacks in the twenty-one fifties. Rare as it was, somehow, Lily Marie was exposed and the young fetus inside her was quickly transplanted to a surrogate mother before its biological mother's untimely death. Liliana was born in July of that year to the widowed Kirk Keeler, an aspiring Biochemist with the Federation Scientific Council. He would never remarry, left to raise (or lack thereof) his, then, three year old son and newborn baby girl on his own for the rest of their lives. How Liliana managed to escape the plague on her incubation is none but mystery to anyone that continues to care to look into it. That shouldn't be hard, considering that she was born to a long line of scientists high-ranking with the FSC.
For most of her childhood, Liliana and her brother, Benjamin, were raised on Earth, in the Windy City, also known as Chicago. They lived more permanently with her mother's brother and his family due to the fact that their father was more often than not off-planet on scientific missions. Ben and Liliana have always been close for a pair of siblings. Maybe it could be the larger age gap between them. The two are always looking out for one another, Ben especially. He protects his baby sister. Although they love each other very much, the two will occasionally get into a disagreement that will put them at odds with one another. They just can't seem to get along for all the time, but that is to be expected with siblings -- especially a brother and a sister. They can be civil with each other during fights, but really, they're both too stubborn to admit they were wrong. Usually, their fights just end with an unspoken agreement not to mention it again. Lil looks up to her big brother an awful lot, always has, and always will. She would die for her family, and her brother would do the same for her.
When she first started her schooling, it was clear to the family that Lily would not be following her father into the family business of respectable sciences. She was clumsy with numbers and had no aspirations to master them. Even at a young age, it was clear that the youngest Keeler would take easily to words and arts. She showed exemplary skills in English Arts. 'Creative Wording' as her grandfather Leonard deemed it. Still, she wasn't any less loved by her father for her lacking in the factual arts. Not to say that it didn't make holiday visits any easier. By her early teens, it seemed that Kirk had failed to produce any heirs to the scientological name of Keeler. While he would never openly admit it, Benjamin and Liliana both would come to realize the emotional toll and turmoil that the disappointment of his family would take on their father. As the years drug on, it seemed that she saw less and less of her father's family and soon, it was only greeting cards on the major holidays and a nice gift on hallmark birthdays. The rejection would eventually cause Liliana to develop a sort of complex where she was constantly striving to do the best work possible while continuing to deny that she was even reaching the standard, let alone, surpassing it.
In the final years of her schooling, Lily began showing a particular interest in the histories of Earth and the interactions of its cultures over the vast arc of time. Luckily, the time had not passed where she could excel in this newfound field of study. She would go on to apply for a position at the Vulcan Science Academy. Due to her latent lack of intrest in the field, however, her name was wait-listed acceptance and she later chose to attend the newly dedicated Academy of Science on her home planet. She went on to study Sociology showing much of the forward thinking of the young woman of the nineteen-thirties that was her namesake. She was one of the first graduates of the newly christened academy, much to her father's relief, and has gone on to take up an ensignia postion with the Starfleet under wing with the FCS for the Enterprise's five year expedition. She will be the ship's only scientologist and is rather excited about proving her worth to the Keeler side of her lineage.
OUT OF CHARACTER - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME/ALIAS: jessica. HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN RPING: since april of two-thousand-two, so seven years. WHERE DID YOU FIND US: caution! RP SAMPLE: "Back up?" Lily asked him, with a slight quirk of her brow that mostly hid behind her sparkling smile as they slowly made their way up the red carpet. To be honest, she had no idea what she was doing, but she had watched enough E! News to know the general gist of how things were supposed to go. They were to be paraded down the line of photographers and reporters and just look good and smile. Of course, when questions were asked, they were supposed to answer as vaguely as possible. Bruce seemed to have it down, but he had been doing it his whole life. At the last few questions thrown his way, Lilyana Daniels couldn't help but to laugh to herself, which confused the current reporter that she was speaking to about the stability of Gotham's crime rate. Definitely not a laughing matter. She cleared her throat, making her exit from the interview and moving on to the next. Lily was never really more than one or two steps ahead of her date. Finally, someone asked her about the elephant in the room. 'Being Bruce Wayne's date for the night has to mean something, doesn't it?' The District Attorney shot her companion a look, before shrugging to the reporter. "I think Mr. Wayne is a regular gentleman and he has been a good friend as I have transitioned into my life here in Gotham." It was direct, to the point and most importantly, clear. She hoped. With a sigh, she finally made it to the entrance of the restaurant, and Mr. Wayne reappeared at her side, letting him guide her as they followed the hostess to their seats.
"I think they're out for more than blood." Lilyana offered as a reply to Bruce's statement. She tossed him an uneasy glance, hoping that the hardest part of the night was over. "Personally," She added, leaning towards him. "I think they're after our souls." A slight grin covered her features as she pulled away to make room for the rush of people that came to greet them. All of Bruce's photo-ops and forced greetings tended to make her laugh softly to herself, because she could sense how much he really hated the actions. There was a facet to Mr. Wayne's personality that seemed to think that there was something better that he could be doing with his time. It was a very interesting thing to Lily, and she wanted to know more. She really didn't have time to think on it much, as people were looking for a moment with the District Attorney as well. Many wanted to offer their congratulations and welcomes to the city. Of course, there were the select few that made it a point to tell her that they expected her to fail. Lily tried not to let the doubters discourage her as she intended to prove them wrong. This town was ready for a positive change, and Lilyana Daniels was going to give it to them. With a quiet sigh, she took in the aesthetics of the place, not before stealing a glance or two across the table at Bruce. It really was a nice restaurant, and she really loved the band. They had now switched from a ragtime tune to something more subdued, and Lilyana soon recognized the tune to be that of "Moon River", her favorite song.
Noticing a sudden hush, Lilyana turned her attention back to the table. Surprisingly, she was alone with Mr. Wayne, now. As alone as two people could be in a room with two-hundred of their closest friends. They shared an awkward glance with each other for a moment as Lily struggled to find some words. She was caught in her own thoughts, many of which included the man sitting across the table from her. The realization hit her once again that she knew little to nothing about him, and he was on the ups by knowing just a little. Albeit, where her political loyalties and assertions lie. That, and she couldn't help to think that he was ruggedly handsome, in a worn-down way, and even without knowing him, she knew that there was more to Bruce Wayne than the playboy plastered on every morning's newspaper. At that moment, she also came to the realization that she would be on the tomorrow morning's front page with him. The thought was daunting. Exactly what connotations would that leave in the minds of the people of Gotham? She had to admit, she couldn't help but to gawk at some of the women that had been in issues past. They were beautiful, young and maybe not-so-intelligent. Not that she cared whether she was Bruce Wayne's type or not. The internal thought process slipped onto her facial expression for a moment as Lily bared a confused look before brushing back her bangs and smiling at him.
Rolling her eyes at him, she shook her head. "Well, when life hands you lemons..." Lily leaned back in her chair, fidgeting with her bracelet under the table. "I guess you just have to make hard lemonade." A silent smirk snaked onto her lips before she tilted her head to listen to him. She looked around the room a bit, her eyes falling on different individuals for no particular reason, before always coming back to Bruce. "As long as your heart looks like it's in the right place..." The District Attorney shrugged. She could definitely see his point. To most of the people in the room, cancer was just another inconvenient truth to the world, just like poverty and crime. It held no meaning to them. "But I'll have you know, I made my pledge in my grandmother's name." She said matter-of-factly. Blinking a bit, she looked at him with a blush. "You think so? I think I talked a bit too much. But when do I not?" She licked her lips nervously. Lily honestly felt a whole lot more relaxed this time around than she had at the meeting with Mr. Wayne earlier in the week. That one had been forced and formal. There were less expectations in the air tonight, and that suited Lily just fine. She looked up at the waiter and smiled, a confused glance shooting back at Mr. Wayne at his order. "Water for me as well, thanks." She answered the waiter.
"Cutting back, really." Lily said skeptically, her eyes sparkling a bit with amusement. Her tongue pressed against the back of her teeth as she fought back a grin at his expense. "Good to see you're turning over a new leaf, Mr. Wayne." She said sincerely, giving him a politician's thumbs-up from across the table. Contrary to popular belief, attorneys really could be humorous when they tried. Lilyana had a quirky sense of humor, but it usually translated nicely, and she did know when to turn it on and off. Taking a moment to look over the menu, she really had no idea what she wanted. Lily wasn't used to five-star cuisine. In fact, she'd be right at home with a big bucket of fried chicken from KFC. She was just that down home and southern. "I don't think I'm going to have any idea what I want." She thought out loud as the band picked up a more lively tune.
