Night had fallen on the hills of Mizuk'il. the moon was at it's zenth and peace seemed to enter the land. It was rare that such a thing happened, for Aeden seemed to be full of some much hate and anger. It had been this way ever since the five Guardians had cursed Earth for the crimes they had commited. Sadly, in doing so, Aeden had been cursed, and the two powerful spirits of light and darkness had been torn apart. Darkness had fallen onto their world and crime had begun. But there was still hope, hope that one day, that the prophecy would be fufilled and their home would return to it's former glory.
A pair of yellow/brown eyes watched the stars as they began to become clear in the sky. Lucinda loved the stars, each one told a different story and fortold a different event that was to come. Although Astronomy and fortune telling wasn't her strongest attribute, she still enjoyed gazing at the stars. Her father had often taken her out to the forest and open lands to go star gazing. He was talented in such areas, and had helped Lucinda learn the names of every star that shone in the sky. These days, the two hardly got to do it anymore, her father was often busy, and so was she. She was no longer a child, at least not one in education, and she now had her own duties to perform. She still needed to decide what role she would play, but oddly enough, her parents weren't forcing her to make a choice. She'd witnessed her elder brother and sister going through the tough decision, and they had been forced to make one as quickly as possible so that they could support their brother and their people. Yet her parents were so....relaxed with her. Which was unusual, usually they were so tense and protective.
Sighing, Lucinda ran a hand through her hair and turned away from her balcony. The stars had said something of danger coming, she wasn't sure if she had been correct, but she was still worried. Unfortunatly, both her parents were out scouting the hills. Word had gotten out of a plan against the royal family, and although it was dangerous, her parents had decided to investigate. Lucinda couldn't understand why they couldn't have sent someone else to do it, surely putting themselves in danger was pointless. If they were in danger, it was wiser to stay within the castle so as to make sure they weren't attacked. And if they were, they'd have guards to protect them.
Suddenly, a chill rose through Lucinda's spine and she quickly shivered. It was summer, so there had been no need for the sudden chill in the air, not when it was one of the hottest days of the year. It could only mean one thing... they were here. The Rayal. A Changeling feared nothing more then them. There could be no other explanation for the fear that had entered her. The Rayal were ugly and terrifying creatures, able to travel at the speed of light and control all technology around them, as well as travel through it. It was one of the reasons no technology touched Aeden. They were defencless enough without giving the Rayal an even bigger advantage. Biting her lip, Lucinda began to shiver, the Rayal often came, they'd kill a few thousand or more Changelings then leave. They often said it was a 'schedule' and that there was nothing wrong with it. But that only made it worse, they were monsterous creatures, and if they were here, Lucinda feared for everyone. It had only been a few months since their last attack, what reason did they have to attack again? "I must warn everyone." Lucinda whispered to herself, wishing to herself and the gods that this wasn't true. If only there was someone out there who could help

James walked down the hallway of the Enterprise Starfleet didn’t give him much time to prepare nor did he have enough time to gather up his crew before being ordered to the planet Aeden. James was told that they had received a distress signal from the planet in question though he didn’t know what was going on his first thoughts where the planet being attacked but he wasn’t sure. Walking onto the bridge James looked around before taking a seat in his chair. “Take us out.” James ordered he didn’t know the temporally crew he hopped that some that he knew would have made it but he had to go before the worst could happen. “How long till Aeden?” James asked. “Not long Captain fifteen minuets but we can push ten sir.” James nodded he wanted to know what was going on but he guessed he would know in due time. James waited while the Enterprise sped towards Aeden hoping they weren’t too late though it was long till James felt the Enterprise slowing down and the image of the planet standing before him. Standing up from his chair James turned towards on of the officers on the bridge. “Open communications.” James waited while they tried to make contact with the people below. “We’ve got a weak signal sir trying to contact Changelings now.” James nodded in reply he was already thinking of a plan.
Moments passed and James turned towards the officer who spoke moments ago. “Alright I’ll go down the planet and check things out myself I need a med team on standby and a security team on standby to beam down on my command.” The female nodded and set of to work. Walking towards the transporter James walked onto it and turned around he waited for the crew to get ready for him to be able to beam down. Seconds latter James was engulfed in a bright white light and beamed down onto the planet. “Can anyone hear me?” James called out wondering where everyone was. “I’m Captain James Kirk of the USS Enterprise here to assist in anyway possible.” James added in he slowly reached for his phaser and began walking he scanned the immediate area but James could see nothing but darkness in front of him. “Hello!” James called out he wondered if he should probably keep quiet now since he didn’t want to alert anyone else to his presence.

Running through the halls of the palace, Lucinda quickly ran to the high tower and lit the signal. The fire rose up as the dry wood began to burn. Soon all of Aeden would know that the Rayal were here. Hopefully her parents would see the distress signal and would do whatever they could to save themselves. But knowing them, they'd probably try and save everyone else first. Lucinda was glad her parents cared so much for their people, but she didn't want her parents to fall victim to the viciousness of the Rayal. She wouldn't cope if her parents died, she understood that all things had their time, and that her parents wouldn't be able to live forever, she could cope with that. But she couldn't stand the thought or the image of her parents being ripped apart as the Rayal tore at their flesh, desperate to get a good meal.
One of the guards rushed to her side and Lucinda quickly gave him an order to gather his best men to help defend against the attack. There wouldn't be much they could do, for they couldn't keep up with the Rayal's speed, but at least they had a slight advantage. With no technology on their planet, it meant the Rayal would have to take a shuttle down to their planet, so they had more time to prepare. If they did have technology on their planet, then the Rayal would use it to trasnsport down and that would be it. The Rayal would be able to freely come to their planet whenever they wanted and their race would probably end. It was forbidden for any technology to be created or to enter their world, it would only cause problems if it did. Technology destroyed worlds, and no Changeling wanted Aeden to be destroyed, it wasn't know as one of the most beautiful planets for nothing. They took pride in their land, and to destroy it was treason.
"Prinli Lucinda" Lucinda turned her attention away from the burning flames to see one of the palace's chief soldiors. "Mala ya i tu'et?" The question caught her off guard and she looked up in the sky. She could already see one of the many ships that were coming down. They had a few hours at the most, less if they decided to use some of the warp cores fitted into every shuttle. Looking out across her land, Lucinda ran a hand through her hair, she couldn't just sit here and do nothing, she had to help. "Ti sala fro hich"
Jumping down from the tower, Lucinda quickly changed into an Eagle and began beating what was now her wings as she began to scan the land. Already people were taking cover, some were even trying to hide what they were by changing into other things. They were probably the younger ones, or those who were so scared they'd done the most natural thing for a Changeling. Hiding in another form wouldn't work, the Rayal would be able to scent the blood of a Changeling, it was useless. All they could do was run, and hope that the Rayal didn't catch them.
Diving down onto the ground, Lucinda quickly changed and landed perfectly on the ground. Her yellow eyes searched around her, looking for any sign of her parents or any member of her family. Sniffing the air around her, she scented no fresh trace of them, she did however, scent a new and strange smell. Standing up, her eyes once again scanned her area. Something was here, what that was, she wasn't sure. But she had a duty to find out what it was and eliminate it if it was a threat. An uncommon sound soon made it's way to her ears, to most, the language would be unfamiliar. But she had been taught the language from her mother from a young age. A human... an Earthling was here.
Following the sound, she ran into a cave and she found the scent had gotten stronger. The scent was rather pleasent for what was considered to be a monsterous race. The Earthling smelled of something between honey and the Yalo Flower. As the voice called out again, a rush of excitement ran through Lucinda. Never in all her life had she thought she'd ever get to meet an Earthling. Though they were taught that Earthlings were cruel and evil, her mother had taught her differently, and her mother knew best for she's lived almost three hundred years on Earth whilst she'd hidden from Malcan Ravana, a man who'd wished to kill her to take the crown. And now Lucinda was achieving what her mother had always wanted, she was meeting a human.
"Hello." Lucinda called out is response. "My name is Lucinda Chahandra." Edging closer into the darkness, her eyes adapted and she saw who she guessed was 'Captain James Kirk.' "How did you get here? We're under attack from the Rayal, how on earth did you evade them?"

James kept his eyes open but he couldn’t see much walking slowly he stopped when he felt a wall come up towards him. Suddenly it began clear the transport crew had beamed him inside a darn cave rather than anywhere near the palace. Cursing James kept on guard wondering what was going on plus he needed to find his way out of this cave before doing anything else. James pondered if anyone did hear him inside this cave he doubt it though but stranger things have happened before. James continued to walk down the footpath of the cave he hopped that he was going the right way for some kind of exit. It wasn’t long into his walk James began hearing a voice calling out he stopped in his tracks and listened closely it seemed that someone did hear his call before which made him feel that much better. James spotted the sound of a woman approaching him he looked in the direction of the sound before listening to her speak once more. James approached the woman he wondered what these Rayal were Starfleet never mentioned them at all in their small briefing. Guessing that Starfleet didn’t know everything about these people and their enemies James smiled and placed his phaser onto his belt but kept it at the ready incase he had to use it at any time. Which he probably will have to use it.
James fell silent he caught her name to be Lucinda but other than that he couldn’t really tell anything more. James looked up when the questions turned to how he got inside the cave. “My starship the USS Enterprise is in high orbit above your planet. I was beamed down here but I think the transporter crew made a slight error in judgment and beamed me down into this cave.” James explained further hopping that Lucinda would understand him. Listening further to Lucinda James finally understood what was happening to the planet it seemed that his first thoughts were correct they were under attack but what were these Rayal he kept on hearing about. “Starfleet intercepted a distress signal from Aeren and they formed a rescue operation.” James explained though first they needed to get out of this cave before anything could really be done. “Do you know the exit once there my crew will send medical add from the Enterprise to assist any wounded you may have I also have a security team on standby to help with the Rayal.” James continued. This was in fact James’s second rescue operation the first being the Vulcan’s now this one. “What can you tell me about the Rayal.” James asked as he stood still and waited for a response of any kind from Lucinda.

As she looked at the man before him, she began to take in his appearance, he stood at six foot and looked quite strong decpite his slender figure. His hair was an aubern colour, similar to that of her eldest brother, he had black warm eyes, which was unusual. Blacks eyes were uncommon on Aeden, and those that had them were said to have the mark of evil upon them. It sometimes worried her that her friend Dracul Ravana had black eyes, they were darker then any she'd seen before, and his eyes were full of coldness and anger. At times it frightened her, but Kirk's didn't, they were warm and inviting and they seemed full of wonder.
Averting her eyes from his face, so as to not make it look like she was staring at him, she began to wonder how he'd gotten here. Earth was meant to be cursed to never find them again. Maybe the curse had worn off, or maybe they'd all misunderstood what had truely happened. After all, none of them had been there. It had happened millions of years ago, what did she know of what truely happened in the past? She was only one hundred years old, she knew nothing.
"I am have never heard of your ship, but it sounds grand." Stepping closer to him, she circled him slowly, taking in all his aspects, his scent and his aura. He was such a fascinating creature. He looked so similar to her own kind, it wasn't difficult to understand why the two species had once gotton along. Yet for once in her life, Lucinda wasn't able to see how such a race could have caused such a large massacre. Before Kirk had ever set foot on Aeden, she had believed, like all Changelings in what had happened, but because of her mother, she'd understood that the human race had changed. Yet now, she found herself doubting her planet's histry. How could something like this have done all of that evil?
Stopping in front of the human, Lucinda smiled and laughed softly. It was unfortunate to end up in a cave, it was obvious he'd intended to be 'beamed down' somewhere else. She made a note to ask him what he meant, and how it worked, but for now, she had to get him to safety. The Rayal loved feasting on Changelings, but if they learned an Earthling was here, they would go wild. Before Earth had been cursed for it's crimes, Rayal would often feast on humans, but they hadn't tasted them in millions of years, it wouldn't be wise to allow the Rayal to be reminded of that taste.
As she listened once again to Captain Kirk, confusion and worry spread across her face. Where on earth had the distress call come from? They had no technology, no ships, no computers, nothing. Was someone hiding technology on Aeden? Or had someone else sent the distress signal, hoping that someone would answer it as some sort of sick joke? "We don't have any technology" Lucinda said gravely. Fear began to race through her as she analysed every possibility. Could the Rayal have sent the signal? Had they wanted someone from Earth to answer it's call? If so, then this attack had become more dangerous. "We need to get you out of here....now"
Grabbing Kirk's hand she began to drag him out of the cave, she had to find a way of getting in contact with this 'U.S.S. Enterprise so that she could return their Captain and get them to leave Aeden, she couldn't endanger them, not for their sake. It wouldn't be fair to let them die so that they could live. Her mother would be upset if it happened, and she didn't want to betray her mother. "You need to get you and your crew out of here, the Rayal will slaughter you all if they get the chance. They're powerful, they can run at the speed of light and control all technology, even travel through it. It's one of the reason Aeden has no technology. The signal was most liekly from them, they probably want to kill you so that they can devour you at some sort of sick feast." She didn't mean to be crude, but it seemed it was the only way, she had to be honest with Kirk, lying wouldn't do him any good. "I'm sorry this happened."

James kept quiet as he was taking everything in he looked back towards Lucinda listening to her he nodded in the right moments. “It’s the flagship of Starfleet.” James explained further. James stood silent as Lucinda stepped closer towards him he watched her as she circled him it seemed to James Lucinda hadn’t seen a human from Earth at all but it was only James’s guess after all. After what seemed like a few minuets to James Lucinda stopped looking at him for now and returned to matter at hand and that was the danger of her planet James was here to help her after all and for James he didn’t even know who Lucinda was though he would probably find out latter on now wasn’t probably the right time. James looked back towards Lucinda as she explained that her people had no technology he then wondered how on earth a distress signal could get out if the people couldn’t send one in the first place this had just got a little bit weirder for James but that didn’t stop him and Starfleet wouldn’t allow him to do so it was part of his duty as an Starfleet officer to help those indeed even though James mostly bends the rules to his liking which gets him into trouble.
James continued to listen to Lucinda as she explained further about the Rayal he looked up towards Lucinda expression when he explained about the distress signal. “I’m sure we’ll figure out what’s going on once we get out here and have a proper look on the situation.” James explained to her. James felt his hand being grabbed from Lucinda and being dragged by her he wondered what was going on and why Lucinda wanted to get him out of here. “Wait we came to Aeden to help you.” James explained he wanted Lucinda to understand him that he really wanted to help. James listened to Lucinda as she explained further he nodded as he also believed that the Rayal was the mostly likely reason on the nature of the distress signal. It suddenly hit James they could quiet possibly get out of this cave quickly. “Kirk to Enterprise can you read me?” James asked but after a while all he got was static. “I can’t get a signal while we’re inside this cave to have us beamed or in shortened translation transported somewhere close to where we need to go. It most likely means we have to get out of this cave before we can get a stronger signal.” James explained he waited for a response from Lucinda.

Lucinda hardly understood what James was talking about, she had little knowledge of ships. Though she'd been taught about them in science, she had never set foot on one, so her experience and knowledge of such things was limited. But it didn't matter, she'd never set foot on one anyway, such things weren't allowed, and her kind had no need for them. There was no point in exploring other planets, they were happy enough with their own. But Lucinda was so much like her mother, and she'd always been curious. If they lived through this, she'd hope that she'd be allowed to visist this 'U.S.S Enterprise'.
Lucinda shook her head and sighed, James just didn't understand. She knew enough to know what the situation was and how bad it was. The Rayal had clearly discovered Earth's wereabouts, and had somehow learned of the Earthlings ability to travel through space, they'd probably assumed that sending a distress signal would have drawn them here, and now they were attacking. They would certainly have a grand feast tonight. But one thing still didn't make sense. If she was right, then why hadn't they just attacked Earth? They could easily shut down the defences in place and kill to their delight. Yet they'd dragged them out here....why? It was a big concern within Lucinda, and although she was one hundred years old and had completed her training, she still had a lot to learn, and this was something beyond her understanding. But she couldn't give up, she had to do whatever she could to save Kirk and his crew, and ensure the safety of her own people.
To feel Jame's hand in her own was...strange. There was a definate difference in the texture btween her own and his. There was an odd softness to his hands, yet at the same time, they were rough thanks to what could only be, years of experience and hard working. Suddenly blushing, she released her hand from his, glad that the darkness was hiding the redness in her cheeks. She shouldn't have been so forward with him, she could easily show him the way out without making contact. It was true that she was eager to get him out of the cave, back to his crew and away from Aeden, but holding his hand to do so? It wasn't necissary. "Forgive me, it was rude to perform such an act." It might not have been much to James, but on her planet, contact in such a way was considered intimate, whether it was between very good friends, or something more.
Looking down at the ground, Lucinda pushed her emotions to one side. She had to maintain control at all times, it annoyed her, but her family had insisted she do it. They often warned her of what could happen if she let her emotions run loose, she didn't know why she had to maintain control, when others didn't. But she couldn't allow her fascination with James to cause her to loose control. The fact that James was so desperate to help only made it worse, why did he have to be so kind when he was in danger? Why couldn't he just run? "Normally w-" Pausing, Lucninda rethought her words. Most Changelings hated and feared Earthlings, only her family would have been happy. "-my family would have been glad for such assistance, but you and your crew are in danger... I can't allow that"
As James attempted to adress his crew, Lucinda decided it best to quickly meditate to get her emotions under control. Her fear and concern were causing her to loose grip of what was supposed to be important. She had to remain calm and controlled. The sound of static flooded her ears and she opened her eyes, she didn't even need James to explain that they couldn't make contact. "Lets go then" Focusing her energy into her palms, a small flicker of light appeared. "I thought i'd provide you with some light. Your eyes can't see in the dark like mine can, and I wouldn't want you to become lost." A drop of sweat ran down her face as her voice strained the words out. She was using a lot of her energy and concentration to keep this going. "Follow me." Turning away from James, she began heading north towards the exit, it would normally take her a few minutes to get out, but she was escorting a human out, so it would take a bit longer. But the sooner they got out, the sooner he could leave
