James Kirk had found himself spending more time in the officer’s lounge than anywhere else while he spent his shore leave. There wasn’t much he wanted to do on Earth except maybe find a good pub or bar but then again if he went out there was Starfleet calling him back it seemed that even the Captain of the ship can’t get very far away before someone needing him for something. Now James was sitting in the lounge he didn’t know where the rest of his bridge crew was but he wasn’t worried they’d find there way back in time for the next shift James was sure of it. Leaning back comfortably on the chair he was relaxing in James looked around he soon noticed that he was the only person here he guessed that most of the crew where spread out and those back on Earth for shore leave. James had only finished a shift a few moments ago and instead of probably sleeping to recover James preferred to be here it was quiet and calming and James could think but he gathered that more and more people would arrive in no time flat.
Spotting a table in front of him James placed his feet up on it so he could relax a bit more. James didn’t know how long he could take being stuck on here for much longer it’s not like he hated Earth or anything he just wanted to keep moving; James didn’t like standing still for very long. James closed his eyes he couldn’t barely wait for his shift to finish most people kept annoying him but he guessed that he’ll get used to it well he hopped he would get used it. After a while James opened his eyes though he continued to lay on the chair with his feet up on the table. James looked over the entrance to the officers lounge he thought he herd a noise but decided that it was nothing and went back to relaxing.

Sky was frustrated. She was still trying to realign the phase cannons. If she was going to be shooting them, they were going to be to her liking. The cannons would've been aligned by now if it weren't for the "embicilic fucktards" in the armory. It didn't help the situation at all that the Lieutenant really didn't want to be here. She audibly sighed as a sliding door she'd yet to go through beeped. She stepped through and looked around. This was the Officer's Lounge. She almost laughed at the fact that she was allowed here.
In no way did she think that she actually deserved such a position. She had only gone to the academy becuase it was ordered by the court. She saw someone sitting at a table just in front of her. He had a certain aura about him that made her think he was of authority, but she didn't really care. She'd never liked authority and this was going to be no different than the other 21 years of her life. She glanced around again; there were a few tables, a protein resequencer, a couch, just average things.
Her feet took her to the wall. After setting a glass on the shelf, she pushed the button, slightly harder than was needed and spoke. "Dublin Dr. Pepper; cold." Her finger lifted from the button as the carbonated beverage poured from the spout. "Damn cargo. Cain't get the shit in a bottle anymore," her accent was fairly thick as her emotions were mildly hieghtened. She turned on her heel and sat down in front of the captain, though she had no idea who he was. This was yet another instance where she was glad she had chosen to wear simple jeans and a t-shirt.

James was in deep thought when he noticed the doors opening. Not really paying attention to the person walking in James returned back to relaxing he pondered on what to do latter though he was sure something would come up it usually does for James Kirk. It wasn’t until the woman spoke James registered that she was in fact in the same room that he was in. James lifted his head as he watched the female for a moment while she got her drink from his view James couldn’t see what she was drinking he didn’t catch what she said to the machine also. James got the impression that the woman in front of him was frustrated with something that James didn’t know what it was. James stood from his chair deciding that he needed a drink as well. Grabbing himself a glass James walked over towards the woman he watched as the liquid poured into her glass as he waited his turn. “Rum and coke thanks.” James spoke he watched as the machine poured the drink taking a sip from his drink James turned towards the woman to get a better look at her.
“With days like today I need something strong to start the night off.” James explained as he took another sip from his drink. James took the chance to have a better look at the female that stood before him. From what James could see of the woman he thought she was quiet good looking; smiling James placed his glass down on a table before turning towards her once more. “It looks like you where having a bad day can I help with anything at all?” James asked looking towards the woman. “James Kirk Captain but I’m of duty so James or Jim which ever you prefer is fine with me. What’s your name?” James explained as he realized that he hadn’t introduced himself yet. Smiling James picked up his glass and took another drink from it as he waited for the female to reply to him.

Sky nearly spilled her drink down her front when he actually turned to look at her. She'd barely registered that he'd gotten up from the table and stood behind her. Her eyebrows traveled up her forhead as she openly looked the man over. Though she was checking him out, it appeared that she was only sizing him up. After all, she'd no clue who the stranger was, so it was completely natural for her to be cautious. Damn... she thought. I'm liking what I see. She smiled at him.
"Eh...we all need somethin' strong every now an' then." Sky grimaced. That was definitely a true statement. Earlier today, in fact, she had been at the bar near the academy with one of her men, Ensign Ros Stuart. They'd had a great time, trading stories, b.s.-ing, the whole nine yards. Sky had left the pub a little tipsy but none the worse for wear. "Oh today was just one of those days...idiot ass crewmen," she spat. "I get the feeling the next time we're in space dock, we ain't gonna have as many under me." She paused to shake his hand, not really registering who he was.
"Well, James is my oldest brother's name...so I'll go with Jim. I'm Sky, by the way. Sky Timber." She frowned. It had just dawned on her that while she was ranting about the crew, he had said his rank. "I'd add 'sir' on the end of that, but I ain't ever been accused of good behavior or subordination, so..." the lieutenant shrugged. She had deliberately left out her rank and title. If he knew his crew, he'd know who she was. If he didn't, then he wouldn't. It was no big deal. Besides, she didn't particularly want her job to begin with.

Smiling as James watched Sky nearly spilling her drink well he did appear beside her quickly so it was partly his own fault. James looked back towards Sky as he noticed that she was looking up and down he guessed that she was checking him out turning around James picked up his drink and took another sip. Grinning at Sky’s response James turned back to look at Sky once more. “So do you like what you see or do I have to do better?” James asked wondering what kind of reaction he would receive. James had spent most of his day onboard the Enterprise dealing with one matter or another just waiting for the clock to tick away but he gathered that he was never of duty. Listening to Sky talk James took the chance to look at her properly he wondered if she would see him checking her out even though he wouldn’t deny it of course.
“I know the feeling about idiot crewmen lucky I don’t deal with them as often.” James explained taking another long sip from his drink. James continued to listen to Sky as she went on speaking he listened as Sky explained about her older brother being called James as well he nodded in agreement about Sky calling him Jim. Hearing Sky’s full name dawned on James he knew it from the new records of the Enterprise which Starfleet made him memorize something that James always hated doing. “Ah the Enterprise’s new Chief Tactical Officer am I correct?” James asked Sky he hopped that he remembered he would look like a total idiot if he got it wrong but knowing James he would probably turn it around after a while. “Are you of duty now? Would you care to join me for a drink I think we could use the company don’t you reckon Sky?” James asked looking back towards Sky again.

Sky was still checking him out when he asked his question. She immediately grinned. Oh, she could have fun with this. Automatically, she stopped hiding that she was apraising his body. "Hair's good, eyes deep, face cute, body hot as hell." She couldn't help herself. Without really thinking she put a hand on his chest, feeling the man up. Something in the back of her mind screamed at her that she was fratting with a superior, but honestly, what were they going to do? Kick her off the ship. She could only hope.
Her hand moved from his chest to his bicep. "So far I'm liking it...but you could use some work somewhere." She grinned, making sure not to tell him where, and stepped away. "Yeah, I'm off duty, thank the gods. It was a long day today." She paused a moment to follow the captain to a table and sit down across from him. "And I'd love the company."
Slowly, deliberately, she took a few sips from her drink, basking in the silence before speaking again, "Besides, if I were on duty, I wouldn't've touched my captain." A smirk lit her face. As much as she hated to admit it, she was proud to be a starfleet officer. She'd had to work her ass off to get her current rank and she'd love a promotion sometime. Not becuase of the cash difference, but becuase she liked being 'da boss'. She looked at Jim's face again. He was very good looking. I can't believe I'm doing this... she thought.
It was almost embarassing for her to be flirting like this, but hey, she was having fun right?

James looked on as Sky gave her report out it wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be. Then he felt Sky step forward and put a hand up on his chest. “That feels good you know.” James replied as he took sip from his drink this was starting to get interesting for James he was usually the one trying to get a girl but he was surprised at the sudden turn of events but it was a good surprise after all. “Well then maybe you could help with the work after all.” James replied. James looked back at Sky he grinned once more as he began circling her. “Well what do we have here?” James began as he kept checking Sky out. “Summarizing your body is stunningly beautiful and the rest absolutely gorgeous. You’ve got a good thing going on there Sky. I'm sure I've missed a few things though some things I can't see.” James replied grining as he stopped circling Sky and stood in front of her.
James then sat at the table with Sky following him shortly afterwards. As Sky sat down he moved closer towards her he smiled as he took another sip from his drink before placing it back down on the table once more. “Company is always good. Drinking alone is never a good feeling. Well then let’s drink to end of today and forget that we have to start the whole day again in the morning.” James replied to Sky smiling as he looked over towards her. “But of course you’re of duty so silly of me to think of anything else.” James added in. He knew that on duty they wouldn’t be allowed it was Starfleet’s code after all but of duty James couldn’t care less it was his time and what he did with his time was entirely up to him. Looking over towards Sky James smiled she was in fact gorgeous. “What’s your poison Sky? I’ll get you a drink.” James stood up and looked down at Sky as he waited for a response from her.

Sky had posed for him when he circled her. Hand on her hip, weight on on leg, drink in hand, and a smile on her face, she had given him the best view she could. This was, after all, the first time she'd ever allowed a guy to look at her like that, and she was definitely enjoying it. She coughed and took a drink, trying to hide her blush as he spoke of her being stunningly beautiful and gorgeous and goodness knows what else. Yeah...I like him.
In the back of her mind, she knew he probably had experience picking up women. She made a promise to herself that if he 'picked her up' it would be because she allowed him to, not becuase he could. She took another drink of her Dr. Pepper as he moved closer. He had a good idea. She was on shoreleave, no one could force her to do anything for another few days at least. Until then, Sky could have as much fun as she liked. She nodded to his statement and finished her glass.
It was just as well since he then offered to get her a drink. She smiled. "Well, since I had a few drinks earlier with one of my armory guys, fought with some idiot cadets, screamed at the commander, and had an overall good time, I'll take something sweet and refreshing..." she thought for a second. "A Roy Rodgers sounds good to me." A grin lit up her face. It had been years since she had one of those. It had been her favorite drink since she was little and her grandfather wouldn't tell her what all was in it. She was sure of sprite, but everything else was a mystery.

The pose that Sky made was good it added the extra touch that made Sky absolutely gorgeous in James mind. James smiled as she coughed he caught a glimpse of her trying to hide her blush but he chose to say nothing about it. “Coming right up Sky.” James replied he chose to have the same drink as Sky. Walking back with the two drinks in his hands James sat back down beside Sky once more. James hadn’t had one of these drinks before and so it was a first experience for him. “You know I’ve never had one of these drinks before.” James explained to Sky as he took a sip from his drink. Tasting the strange liquid in his mouth before swallowing the drink he enjoyed it. “That’s good makes you wonder why I haven’t tried it before now.” James laughed in reply as he turned towards Sky. James smirked as he herd that Sky had fought with some idiot cadets he remembered the fateful night when he showed up at the bar and fought with the group of cadets before Captain Pike stopped them well now Admiral Pike.
If someone told James what he was going to do three years ago James would never have believed them. James however was glad that he accepted Pike’s offer to join Starfleet. “Yeah I’ve had my run ins with cadets even before I signed up for Starfleet.” James explained to Sky. “It seems like you’ve had an adventurous afternoon Sky better than mine anyway.” James added in as he took another sip from his drink. “Are you enjoying your shore leave or like me wanting it to end.” James asked as he continued the conversation with Sky he wanted to know more about her. Looking around the officers lounge was completely empty except for Sky and himself he wondered if most crew had took a shuttle to Earth which was the obvious scenario.

Sky wasn't really suprised that he'd never had a Roy Rodgers before. It had a deep red color with a cherry flavor and was not a strong alcohol at all. It was just a good drink. She smiled at him. "I wouldn't doubt it. I don't ever find a bar that makes 'em right." His next comment brought a grin to her face as she pulled the cherry -- Roy Rodgers generally came with a cherry -- off its stem. She wanted to laugh, but it would be rude with food in her mouth. It was a good drink.
"I don't know..." she replied to his question about shore leave. "I'm gettin' pretty ancy myself, but I'm a bit nervous about being away from home. It wasn't really a choice to join Starfleet for me..." her smile showed she was hording a secret. Deciding against telling him about her little...'trial'...she continued, "I don't like sittin' on my hands, but if we're up and movin', it means more time around that dickhead I have to call 'Commander'." She glared at the wall. In her mind's eye, Sky was holding a phase pistol to Spock's head.
"He threatened to demote me today...multiple times, in fact." Suddenly, she remembered that she wasn't talking to one of her drinking buddies, but to her captain. Her hand flew to her mouth and she looked at him with wide eyes. "I'm sorry! I said too much. Good night, Captain." Her voice and tone were formal as she immediately stood up and tried to leave, having to walk past him to get to the door. She figured that the captain and his first officer were friends and thought she had just offended Kirk. He could stop her if he so chose, but she was headed for the door.

James continued to drink his drink as he watched Sky. James listened to her as she talked about shore leave he hated the Enterprise being docked it took all the fun out of he already had several words with Starfleet about her still being docked and all but never less he had orders to uphold. Looking towards Sky as she spoke to him. “Yeah I laughed about the idea of joining Starfleet myself.” James explained further he remembered all those years ago. Looking up at Sky he noticed that there was more about her joining Starfleet than she was telling possibly a secret that she has yet to reveal. Listening further to Sky she revealed that she didn’t like someone that held a Commander rank he grinned as he only thought of one person being that annoying on the Enterprise. Spock was his first officer after all but the guy can get on James’s nerves at the most times when he didn’t agree with James’s plans.
The two never got along it wasn’t until a future version of Spock saved James’s life in that cave James learned that things might have been different. Still James does have the usual conflict between himself and Spock. Realizing that he probably was staring into space back there James snapped out of his deep thought in time to hear Sky apologize about what she said about Spock. Watching her stand and walk towards the door though James stood up and hurried towards her. “Sky there’s no need to apologize I myself have conflict with Spock. He is loyal to both Starfleet and the Vulcan’s and after working with him he can be annoying but he’s alright once you get to know him.” James explained further. James probably wouldn’t say what he said in front of Spock but if it wasn’t for his future self James would probably live on hating the guy but that was his guess after all.

Sky stopped. He hadn't nessissarilly told her to halt, but she did when he started talking again. She let him finish. Wow...the captain has a problem with his first officer? Hmm... she thought. That could probably be used to my advantage. Well, I'm not like that, so I wont deliberately use it. It was true. That fact could be used, but Sky wasn't the type to use people in that way. She was disgusted with herself for even thinking it. Turning, she smiled at her captain. "You're sure Jim? I mean...he is your first officer..."
She tried to step around him to get back to her seat, but there wasn't enough space between him and the table next to him, and she accidentally brushed against his body. Her face went beet red and she turned away quickly. "Uhh...excuse me. Sorry." Her face stayed turned away but she couldn't move much further, and to go back, she brush against him again. Basically, she was stuck here.
She scratched the back of her neck, not really knowing what to do. If he moved out of the way, she could get back to their table. If he stayed where he was, she'd have to brush against him again. Not that she didn't like the idea...it was just embarrassing as hell. Her face was still red. C'mon Kirk, move your ass! the Texan side of her mind said. No. Come closer, her feminine side replied. There was no lie in the statement that she was attracted to him. If he wanted, he could probably have her right then, now that she was a bit tipsy. Afterall, she'd been drinking most of the day.

James wasn’t going to stop Sky if she wanted to leave then that was her choice but of course James would try and persuade her. James felt the awkward silence from both himself and Sky he nodded in reply. “Well he’s Spock after all.” James replied. James wondered what Sky was thinking however he kept the thought to himself as he watched her for a moment wondering what she was going to do next. James felt Sky brush against his body he looked up as she went bright red in the face. James smiled as she apologized again he kept still realizing that she was stuck and possibly couldn’t move until he did. “For what Sky?” James asked he stood still looking at her for the moment before turning around. The officer lounge was still empty expect for Sky and himself he was surprised that no one had turned up being the time of day and all but he wasn’t really thinking of that too much.
James turned his attention back to Sky he wondered why she hadn’t moved yet though he gathered that the answer would come to him in all due time but for now he kept still waiting for Sky’s next move. Deciding that he didn’t want to wait any further James took a step forward towards Sky he waited to see what she would do before taking another step closer towards her. “Do you still want to leave Sky?” James asked her giving the option to for her to leave if she wanted to. James wondered for a moment what Sky would actually do he also. Another thought crossed James’s mind if Sky had herd people talking about him and his way with the ladies it was James after all and it was in his nature to pick up women. Falling silent James moved a bit closer towards Sky waiting for her reaction.

Sky couldn't help it. She laughed. Yes, Spock was Spock. That was clear. A second later though, she remembered that she was embarrassed and her mouth abruptly closed, and her laughter ceased. Jim Kirk, probably the hottest guy she'd seen in years, was standing within reach, and not moving away. Her next choice of action took alot of thought. What was she to do, exactly? What she wanted was strictly prohibited and could get her in serious trouble...but yet, she wanted it. The woman was somewhat spoiled her entire life. She was used to getting what she wanted.
She stood there as he took a step closer. The bright color was subsiding from her cheeks, leaving them as a normal pink. She stood perfectly still. Each second that ticked away felt like hours. He took another step. Her head came up as her eyes met his. "No...I don't want to leave..." she whispered. This was entirely too good. A smile lit her face as she took a deep breath. Oh shit oh shit oh shit. Yes, she'd heard the rumors. She was fairly positive they were true. Kirk was a cocky bad boy who could probably get just about any chick he wanted...well...that wasn't Uhura.
He took another step toward her, and she lost it. She was drunk, and he was hott, and obviously into her. At least, she thought he was. The normally modest woman stepped against him...on purpose. She grinned as her hands went to his shoulders. Standing on her tiptoes, she whispered into his ear. "I'm really not that easy, Capt'n..." She grinned and stepped back. The girl had wanted to just kiss him. She was drunk; she couldn't help it. Honestly, though, she really hoped he'd test her statement. If he did, she was his.
