PERSONAL - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
PERSONALITY: As her strength and weaknesses show, Asana has great leadership skills, but a lot of growing to do. She is too quick to anger and is blinded by her own pride and ambition. She does care for others, but tends to let her other qualities blind her. When she tries, she can see past her ambition and pride and see the others around her, to protect the ones that matter. Asana also has that warriors spirit to her, which tends to lead her down a path that could get her into trouble or save her. The warrior in her fails to see the woman and she tends to forget that emotions are apart of her, forever.
Asana carries with her a lot of animosity towards the father that abandoned her. Anyone that knows her past is always quick to making her remember that and she becomes blinded in more ways than can be imagined. Too many times to count Asana had been brought back to mind the place she rather forget. The point in time where her father abandoned her, when she needed him most. Her mother became the one she leaned on. Finding out all to hard that not everyone has happiness in their lives. Others have to fight for it. Asana then began to push herself, hardening herself to pain, but it doesn’t always work. Asana needs to accept her past and move on, but in her heart, she knows she can’t. Not until her mother is avenged.
If one does get passed the many barriers she has up around her, they find that Asana is a person of many values. She is kind and gentle to those closest to her. She loves without question and protects all that she loves. She is loyal and strong. She never falters in her duties. She shows herself as a true woman of character and calm nature around those who get close. The barriers around her are strong, set up to keep the pain of loosing on parent out, and the love of the other in.
HISTORY: Asana was born to privilege, to two promising parents. Her father was a member of the Romulan Senate. His name was Augustus Ashguard. Her mother was Julia Costus, the Exolinguist daughter of a very powerful General, Arius Costus. Julia married Augustus, at her father’s request, and bore him one child. Asana. Since the first child she gave him was a girl, Augustus refused, for the time being, to have another child with Julia. Asana was just a baby, and already her father was disappointed in her.
When Asana turned five, her father left their family. It tore a deep wound in Asana’s heart that would not heal. Her mother was forced to find a way to live without her husband’s protection. Asana’s grandfather did what he thought was best and sent Asana to the best Combat and Weapon’s instructor he could find. He would have her trained, from the moment she walked, in combat, weapons and tactical. Her mother, wanting her own gift bared upon her child, would begin teaching her the several languages she already knew.
From five to fourteen, Asana was pushed by her master. He wanted her to be the best. She, at first, thought it was a game, but soon found out that it was no game. He was hardening her up for what was in store for her live. He tought her swords, staff, guns, spear, and many other weapons. He also taught her many martial arts, including styles from earth and a few from other races he had learned from. Julia began to worry about her daughter, but her father told her the girl was in good hands. The harder she got, the easier it would be for her to take care of her father, when the time came.
When Asana turned fourteen, she was already versed in several languages. She was also finishing her intermediate training with her Combat and Weapons Master. This was also the year that her Grandfather passed away, leaving Asana’s mother that entire fortune he had. Julia then told her daughter that the council was being blinded by her father, who felt Starfleet and the Federation where a problem that War would solve. With the encouragement of her mother, Asana announced at her fifteenth birthday that she was joining the Starfleet academy, using her father’s last name of Ashguard. This angered Augustus and he forbid her to go. It was a cold war between father and daughter.
Asana knew that once she joined Starfleet and showed the other Romulans that they were not all bad, her father would loose sway over the Romulan Senate. It was her goal, to make her father suffer the way he made her suffer. Once she was in Starfleet, however, her attitude began to change again. To something that not even her father could crack.
Though she stayed the same to her father, she took a new approach on authority. She began to learn the inner workings of a military and space units. She pushed herself to be better, to learn more. She began to study their styles of combat, weapons, and tactics. It was her way of becoming human, without giving up her Romulan heritage. Another blow to her father. She studied under some of the best instructors of Tactics, and they all said the same thing; the girl was well trained for a Romulan.
She pushed herself harder, and when it came time to graduate, she graduated near the top of her class, and was assigned to the Enterprise. It was shocking to her, to be assigned straight out of Starfleet, a Lt. Commander in Tactical and Security. She was also fluent in over 50 different languages which made her a value to whatever captain got her. In this case, it was Captain James T. Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise. She had heard many great things about the ship and could not wait to get aboard.
Back home, her mother reported to the Romulan Senate that Asana Ashguard was aboard the Enterprise. Her father was furious and moved to Exile Julia and her daughter. It was not until the last Shore Leave that Asana found out her mother was on Earth and her father had succeeded again in making her life miserable. She used her money that she had saved back and got her mother a place on Earth. Julia watched as her daughter changed once more, to hating her father more and hating her people for not being understanding. They feared The Federation, and they had all rights to. The Federation had her, the last student of their greatest Weapons and Combat Master.
OUT OF CHARACTER - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
NAME/ALIAS: Stormie HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN RPING: Too dang long, since 1999. WHERE DID YOU FIND US: Was on here before, with the same character. DID YOU READ THE RULES: yes, pilgrim. FACE CLAIM: Devon Aoki RP SAMPLE: Asana moved with the grace she was born with. Though the other fighters around her moved with the same grace, her speed is what caught them. She danced in and out of them; tagging them in wounding places. As she did, they backed away from her, so others could have their shot. Twenty fighters in all, and not a single one could land a shot on her. Asana finally had them all wounded and standing along the wall; she stood up sweat dripping from her brow. Her Master clapped, as he spoke.
”Computer, pause simulation. Very good, Asana, you learn fast and well.” He spoke, his voice stern, as he looked at her. Asana had her hair, in its single braid, abstracting her veiw a bit as she looked over at her master. The twin blades that she had been using were at her side, breathing rather hard and ragged. She was the fiercest female warrior he had trained. He gave the most of that promise to the fact that she held in her quite a bit of anger and animosity, towards the father that she barely knew. Asana’s father had left when she was very young. It had been something that she rarely spoke about, then again, what Romulan Warrior would want to.
”Thank you, Master. I try hard to be better than any other student you have trained.” She said, boldly. He would give her one thing, she was the most stubborn of all his pupils, but she was a far cry from the best. He stepped back into the safety zone, smiling at her. She quickly took her stance, she knew what was coming. He was not done with her training for the day, not by a long shot. She gripped the blades once more, her eyes becoming more focused.
”You are a strong student, Asana. You just have a long way to go. Computer, start fight simulation 19, level 3.” He said. As the computer kicked up once more, she took a deep breath, and readied herself for worst; as he kicked up the simulations to the next level for her.
