I came on board the Enterprise for the first time today. It would have been a positive and memorable experience, had I not dropped my entire tool box on Chief Engineer Scott's foot - I think I can only fairly classify it as memorable now. I think I'm going to be helping with diagnostics and other things in Engineering, although I hope that if I do a good enough job, maybe I'll have some time to tinker with my holograms. I met some people, but a lot of them are on the planet for leave, apparently. Hopefully we'll get out of here in the next week or so if nothing happens in between to prevent it.

Today I figured out that the coffee in the mess is pretty good, but only if you try to drink it through your mouth and not your pants. On a lighter note, I met some pretty cool people today, some of them are starting to come back from the surface, I guess. Also I refilled all of Chief Engineer Scott's circuit injectors while he was somewhere else. Hopefully I'm making up for the bad impression I gave him when I first got here.

I found a cool place on the ship today, apparently there's a holographic sort of room where you can go and generate different settings around you. I think it needs more objects though. Will work on that when I have spare time.
As it turns out, Chief Engineer Scott was not so happy with my work on the circuit injectors. Turns out he was keeping track of exactly how much of each component he'd used, so he made me go back and do all the calculations for him. Don't mind calculations, but I'm not sure what a "numpty" is...

I think I'm only going to keep this log when something interesting happens. Today was all right. Chief Engineer Scott seems to have forgiven me for previous offenses, only now he's taken to laughing at me. I think his new girlfriend is having a positive effect on his mood. I think I nearly walked in on them doing something in engineering yesterday...I heard a lot of running around, but I don't know what they were doing after that.
On an unrelated note, I found the crust of a sandwich over by some pipes today. Looks like it's been there at least a few days. I've decided not to tell the chief until I can figure out who did it, because he'd probably blame me, as much as he hates people eating near the engines.
